That’s called building a audience so you self-promote at college campuses hoping to get your numbers up for “followers” “fans” “customers” “groupies” “subscribers” and ect.. yes I did mention “groupies” hey they will for sure be helpful with your self-promoting.
You will need to buy “books” yes actual books written by don king 👑 and Charlie Kirk and Howard Stern.. reading the author writings will be just like sitting face to face.. when a artist writes something themselves it is inspired from their soul so that means author Howard Stern is the mind of Howard Stern.. author don king is the brain 🧠 of don king, author Charlie Kirk is the writer of the material.. to learn how to be successful in this category you have Three of the greatest promoters mindset..my production company has a self promoter section that has these books and writing on file.

Grandma has fallen.. remember you have been down for ten years on the same job has anyone help you up 🤔.. come on it’s sink or swim 🤔.. what would Jesus do? If you go to a concert of a singing pop star theses days you get a performance of acting.. that means PRETENDING.. Many years ago when you bought a concert ticket the performer had to WORK WORK WORK, today the performer is not much of a true entertainer for the audience… today’s generation audiences are just happy to be apart of something, to be accepted and included with a group, it’s not that the audience of this generation truly are there at the concert for the artist in concert they’re there because they were told be there.. in other words a time and date is set and the crowd show up, many years ago as a singer you hope for a audience to show up.
Many years ago a singer had to know how to sing, many years ago a singer had to have audience appeal or attraction… Elvis Presley would 😅 💦💦 sweat while performing for an audience on stage.. many years ago a singer like James Brown or Tina Turner gave energetic performances.. when you buy a concert for Tina Turner you didn’t buy the ticket to be accepted, you bought the tickets because of the artist or entertainer…so let’s get down to business..
What is this workshop topic class about today ? it’s about business marketing for today’s audience generation, taking advantage of the music industry strategy.. being a singing artist nowadays it’s not complicated like it was in the pass, today’s audience generation are programmed by master marketing puppeteers, not like in the pass where you actually had to build a audience but the audience today are already sitting manikins waiting to be used for display, such as a 🪧 protest, need people just give a time and place then the manikins arrive.. true story I was in a restaurant eating with someone, the couple sitting a table across from us get a text on their phone 🤳 they get up to leave one of the couples asking questions such as where are we going? what happened? why are we leaving? so me and the person I was with wanted to see what was going on so we followed the couple about three blocks to a crowd of people marching in the streets complaining about the raising cost of food prices ,well, the couple joined the marching in the street to add to the number of the complaining, take notes that the couple leaves a restaurant that they’re eating at to join a marching of people complaining about 🥑 food prices.. when a organization use social media app it is easy for them to use their marketing puppeteers.
When you become a brand name it will be simple for you to manipulate this generation audience.
Today singers they don’t actually sing the songs in their own voices, they lip syncing.. they synchronization with prerecorded soundtracks… and as a Ventriloquist because this workshop is a Ventriloquist workshop so as a Ventriloquist you know lip syncing is the art of ventriloquism..so yes singers today are cashing in using our art of ventriloquism.

A.I. has written some untrue things about me…SO..Let me be clear, I am not bashing singers..in simple words before the world shut down for those three or four years a singer had to put in work..for an example the singer milli vanilli was nailed to the cross ❌ and buried alive for “LIP SYNCING SCAM AND SCANDAL AND HOAXES”so, before you write some 🐂 💩 do your resources first!!..I witnessed milli vanilli career from start to finish there was no social media in those days and the audiences were made of real human beings not manikins and when the fans and audiences found out that milli vanilli was lip syncing,well, maybe you can go witness for yourself if you can find some information on the history of singers milli vanilli career… today singers generation audiences are not the same as my generation audiences, in essence if at age 10 the bank told you no free money here for you then at age 40 the bank says free money for everyone what should you do at age 40, 30 years later? a scandal is a scandal no matter what generation…so.. the truth of the subject here is singers are singers and Ventriloquists are Ventriloquists, the singers today are benefiting from using the art of ventriloquism then why can’t the vent community do the same after all it’s their money that’s being taken away from them.

Properganda is a promotional tool and advertising to stretch the beliefs of the truth…is properganda a marketing skill, properganda is not marketing it is the very skilled of a sales tactic, it is a build up to a extravaganza of nothing.. it is a desperate scream in the wilderness.
You as a Ventriloquist can use properganda as a selling pitch..no need to speak for properganda because properganda can be done by using visual instead of sound…most politicians use properganda and you being a Ventriloquist need to study how politicians use propaganda for their success..no matter if it’s politician or Ventriloquist entertainer propaganda is propaganda.
When you advertise your Ventriloquist act using properganda words are very important, you want to use eye catching words to your readers, and you want your properganda to big and loud.. for example “THE FIRST 10 PEOPLE THAT BUY A TICKET TO MY SHOW GET 50% off, what is the properganda?.. if people really want to see your show they believe that they are getting a bargain on a half price ticket so the people hurry to line up to get the 50% off but the 11th and 12th and so on people are late but they are already in line so they stay in line to pay the full price ticket 🎟️ but in reality the 10 there in line are your relatives or employees so actually there is no 50% off your tickets after more than 10 people show up you have met your financial goal for the starting point… another properganda example: your daughter just bought a brand new car for herself, the car is advertised in one of your shows advertisement WIN A BRAND NEW CAR A PRIZE GIVEAWAY! COME SEE VENTRILOQUIST SO AND SO, at your show you have people put their name and contact information on a card, then you place those cards in a bucket 🪣, you pick a card from the bucket and announce the name that is the winner of the brand new car 🚗 your daughter is so happy to win! You hand her the keys and your daughter drive away in her “brand new car”…the names and contacts in the bucket you use for potential future customers such as selling your merchandise to them or asking for future bookings of your Ventriloquist act…. “PROPERGANDA” a little white 🤥🤍 LIE..the serpent told eve a little white lie in the garden of Eden could be the first properganda used… properganda is not illegal the only thing could be wrong about properganda is that it is a business tool that the wooden puppet name Pinocchio can never get away with.

A PROPERGANDA STAFF may raise some eyebrows because I didn’t know that they existed until I witnessed them for myself.
A properganda staff are a team of professionals that are put together to boost a individual or a event promoting… In the team #1. a professional ass kisser they’re called the “ass-sistant”.. #2.you have the professional brown noser..#3 the loud mouth.. #4 the yes man or yes person and #5 the glamour doll this person is usually fashion and designer of making everything look GOOD and that also includes a individual…a glamour doll is a self promoter also they are in the fashion and decorators and designer world.
If you haven’t witnessed a properganda staff I will give you a visual of what some seem to be like.. let’s start with #1 the professional ass kisser this person job is to protect the person in charge interest at all “cost” this person is usually the leader or head of the properganda staff..#2 the professional brown noser you will see in most business environments they are the ass kisser little “bitch” hey! That’s what they call them, I truly apologize but that’s what a brown noser is the ass-sistant little bitch, the brown noser take orders from the professional ass kisser..#3 the loud 🔊 mouth is a person hired because they have the gift of gab, “Gabby” this person is the ultimate propaganda, this person job is to talk it up, let’s say a group of people are standing in line this person job is to stand in line and talk about his boss business, let’s say his boss own a smartphone store, while standing in line the loud mouth says he just bought a brand new smartphone and got two smartphones free!! he takes out the smart phone from his pocket for people to see, the loud mouth might be talking to one friend standing in line with him or #4 the yes person but his voice carries all the information for many people to hear, address of his boss smartphone store, the telephone number of his boss smartphone store, the hours the store open and closed, thing like that, but what’s funny about the loud mouth is he is a human radio commercial..#4 the yes person, well, you wonder 🤔 if properganda is marketing after meeting the yes person, and the answer is no, the yes person is hired by the person in charge because they can charm anyone and sweet talk anyone, they can sweet talk a priest to set his robe on fire, a yes person can get you to say yes to buying or selling anything, they can convince a used car salesman to give them the piece of junk car away for free!most yes people are attracted and educated… #5 the glamour doll, have you ever walked into a office that was nice and clean, a beautiful person wearing stylish clothes walks you in to meet the person in charge, the glamour doll take your seat out for you to sit down, the glamour doll is there in the meeting maybe making coffee or even polishing her nails or she could be standing beside the person in charge to make sure everything is nice and neat and everyone in the room are comfortable, in some other settings a glamour doll is called other titles such as “eye candy” or “pleasure pleasers ” they’re fashion and decorators and escorts but the truth of the matter is all these people are little white professional liers for a purpose and that purpose is called “properganda”
So you’re sitting at one of theses properganda staff meetings seeing the person in charge yelling at his or her ass-sistant then the ass-sistant turns and yells at the brown noser then the little brown noser turns and yells at the yes person then the yes person turns to yell at the loud mouth and the loud mouth yells at no one… that is the ranks of the properganda staff team and I am very sure the loud mouth can’t wait to move up in the ranks..I do wonder if the glamour doll is part of the ranks, maybe they are the next ass-sistant inline for that position or perhaps the yes person.

What is a booking calendar?…a booking calendar is a monthly calendar that you use for your schedule events, your future activities concerning your craft and in this case your craft is the art of ventriloquism..the calendar has your performance dates, your meetings, your appointments, your to do list, your rehearsal times, your practice time, your study time, auditions date, upcoming events, birthday party plans, reminders, paydays, the booking calendar is only for your what when and where information for your Ventriloquism only not for your personal life such as walking your dog or feeding the cat unless you have a side job as a pet sitter to use the funds for your art of ventriloquism.. a booking calendar is not a regular monthly calendar, it is not for normal use.. a booking calendar is your Ventriloquism schedule if you were a dancer then it would be your dance schedule..a booking calendar is a serious notebook for your book keeping and documentation record.. others use booking calendars so for example a talent agent pencil you in for January 1 at 9am for a audition your booking calendar on January 1 should be in pencil “audition 9am for super star talent agency”, the talent agent booking calendar and your booking calendar will say the same on January 1.. if you ever choose to cancel a booking date on your booking calendar it is very important that you do before the booking date arrival, booking calendars are planned and planning, there’s a lot of things that are going on before the booking date,so in other words your words are gold for that booking calendar date so when you cancel it, it may cause a interference with the planning so if you cancel before the booking date maybe the planning can be saved and perhaps you can be bumped up to another date.
During your Ventriloquist practice time have your Ventriloquist partner say: “I have places to go people to see and things to DO!”
Let’s start your calendar not at the beginning of the year but as soon as possible, as soon as you finished reading this sentence go take a look at your monthly calendar then return to this class… when you look at your monthly calendar you may have chores and other responsibilities already scheduled for the days of the week and this is a booking calendar and booking calendars are for HUNGRY!! individuals..the booking calendar is created for opportunities, the booking calendar give you a headstart on the competition in a competing market…but let’s get you something to put on your calendar and the easy way is birthday dates, if family and friends are having birthdays coming up mark that on your calendar so what we want to do is plan for a birthday party for self-promoting opportunities, you are going to give a birthday party show for your family member or your friend now that’s not the plan, the plan is inviting people to the birthday party, you may need to make a investment in putting the birthday party together but your return on your investment will be in self-promoting and hopefully adding to your calendar.. you’re not going to charge any money for the guest at the birthday party, the birthday party give you an opportunity and that’s what a booking calendar is, creating a opportunity.. you will provide good entertainment with your ventriloquism at the birthday party that is the gift to the birthday boy or girl.. your goal is to at least meet someone at the birthday party to pencil in on your calendar… birthdays are 365 days a year and 24 hours a day, the birthday business can be a successful business and it was a very successful business for me as a Ventriloquist.
Your booking calendar is your 🔮 crystal ball it looks at your PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE, it also gives you hope… the booking calendar tells you where you have been and where you hope to go..a booking calendar is also a growth 📈 📉 chart from month to month it keeps records of your activity, it will show you your improvements, it will show you your ❌ cancellations, it will tell you your financial funding, yes if you get a paid show mark it with red ink on your booking calendar putting the amount is up to you but anytime you received money is document in red ink just like you see on the 📈 chart red is going up the chart 📉 and green or blue is going down the chart, yes I write the amount of the payment on my booking calendar because when I look back at last year booking calendar it tells me my show business financial funding growth…this go the same for hobby Ventriloquists or nonprofit entertainer Ventriloquist because you also get paid in tips any type of payment for performing is Red ink, if you don’t want payment of any kind you may use a emoji 💖 heart or 😊 smile on the booking calendar so when you look at the booking calendar you see what you love all over your booking calendar hearts 🥰🥰🥰 and smiles! There may be donations to your Ventriloquist act and even though you don’t want to receive money or payments for your Ventriloquist act if a donation is offered or given to your performance, I deeply advise you not to reject donations, you can always say that you will like to transfer the donation to someone or a organization but don’t reject donations.. donations are not like tips, a donation is giving from the soul so remember the differences in “payments”- “tips” and “donations”, when you hear the word “donation” to you, be humble… and yes donations are written in red ink on your booking calendar.
Understand the ink colors may have different meaning in the business world for example red ink means financial loss and black meaning good financial gains and blue is the same as it is mention here for the substitute for black ink..the reason for red ink for your booking calendar is so that you see the activity directly so if you choose to use red ink the corporate business way just trace over the red ink with black ink that would be fine but In that case you will be writing in two inks black over red combined with both definition of the business world..but if you choose to only use for your booking calendar then no need to use the red ink the corporate business way, the red ink will be for you to see your booking financial funding information…but it is good to know the original meaning of writing in ink in the business world, red-black-blue ink and yellow highlights.

I want you to know becoming a volunteer of anything is a very wise thing because volunteers are always active and needed..as a volunteer you will be provided with situations to mark on your calendar that you can pencil in.. volunteers travel a lot also and volunteers meet many different people.. you may not understand so let me clarify the volunteer penciling in for your calendar, you are a Ventriloquist so as a Ventriloquist you are a entrepreneur entertainer this means networking is your business and the booking calendar is part of networking also part of self-promoting, let me give you a true story of when I first met real-life self promoters, when I was performing in comedy clubs the comedy clubs always had someone like a talent agent or promoters or producers or showbusiness managers or talent scouts visiting the clubs, they come to watch entertainers performing on stage and if they could use your act they would make deals and offers to you and hand you their business cards, self promoters would have a event coming up but no entertainers so they would go to the comedy clubs to pencil in entertainers for the event schedule.. some entertainers would ride the 🧥 coattails of self promoters because they provide many opportunities.. I hope that true story gives you an idea about the booking calendar.
Your school have many things that you can pencil in on your booking calendar such as school programs, your booking calendar is not only for performing it can also be for improving your skills or talent anything to do with your art of ventriloquism is written in pencil on your calendar.. such as shopping for a outfit for your showbusiness career or a appointment or pencil in to make a phone call or interviews or to practice or rehearsal time.. people places and things are what you want on your booking calendar..if your booking calendar run out of room get another calendar and pencil in more.
When you pencil in on your booking calendar.. on the date of the calendar write over the pencil in with ink if the booking was completed..if not completed leave in pencil and if you like to reset the booking for a later date if the later booking calendar date is completed then write over both dates with ink, if you choose not to complete the booking schedule for that date write a self note about the reason why. Remember the colors: pencil: upcoming, not sure, have not happened but possible…red ink: money, finance, financial, funding… black ink: guaranteed, one hundred percent..blue ink: a secondary to black ink..not first ink, some may and may not accept.. substitute..a note can be in blue ink but not red ink unless it’s a urgent note.. highlight with yellow 🟡 highlights markers is: read first… attention… important details.
Letting your phone ring, let your message box full up, even though your phone is ringing and your message box is full you MUST answer, maybe not right away if you can not but you MUST respond, because you are a business person for fun or profit, you have put in the time and now the returns are arriving.. you may receive a call from a potential customer that has been waiting all year to book you for their birthday party or a self-promoter have a event to pencil you in or a talent manager seen your Ventriloquist act but didn’t have a space for your act but now there’s a spot for your Ventriloquist act.
Always practice and rehearsal is very important for your booking calendar and always be ready to go! yes have a suitcase packed to go because you might get a unexpected opportunity to travel to another country for a big show business career deal.

are you in the storyteller business with your ventriloquism? even if you are not adding new 🆕 ideas 💡🤔 for your Ventriloquist act is for the new changes in society. Today there’s books that read to you instead of you reading the book 📖. In this workshop class are some creative ideas to add a brief audio book routine to your Ventriloquist act.
After your audience has listened to the short story on the audio book you and your ventriloquist character or puppet perform a skit based on the story, or you can have your little partner ask questions about the story or you can have lots of comedy with your ventriloquist dummy about the story. Some audio books use famous celebrities voices for the reading of the audio book and there’s many are ventriloquist puppets that are made to look like a particular person such as Michael Jackson or Abraham Lincoln or so and so, Abraham Lincoln audio books will make great entertainment for a ventriloquist using a Abraham Lincoln ventriloquist puppet. While the audiences are listening to the audio book the ventriloquist can also be listening 🎧 or hiding out of view waiting for the audio book to end to enter with the ventriloquist dummy or perhaps pass out business cards to some audience members.

Welcome to get crazy money fast!!$$$ what you don’t know can hurt you, here is a true story a family went into a restaurant to eat dinner when the family some how wallet was missing the restaurant manager called the police because the food the family ordered was over a hundred dollars, a mentally ill man with a EBT food stamp card paid for the family bill the mother and the father with their children thank the mentally ill man for saving them from being arrested.. the mentally ill man give them a ride home in his luxury car. The family couldn’t understand by the man appearance and mental state of mind how could he be very successful… if you are a Ventriloquist then you have a image of some people may think is a disability, I surely don’t think so but us Ventriloquists should take advantage of every opportunity leading to society judgement so at the end we whisper “who’s the dummy now”… in the United States of America there are tax payer bills that pay money to the mentally ill, I am not talking about twenty dollars a month, I met a girl that was a Ventriloquist many years ago when I was in college that get a five thousand dollars a month government check for playing the dummy role, yes she was a Ventriloquist, she sit on her front porch of her home with her very expensive Ventriloquist dummy to practice and for rehearsal she told me all she was doing was practice and rehearsal of her professional Ventriloquist act, she was college educated but what the neighbors seen with their judgemental eyes was the opposite, the Ventriloquist received a unannounced visit to her home from the medical service department, the neighbors made reports to law enforcement causing many welfare visits to her house..after the Ventriloquist realize what was going on she began to play the dummy role and soon a doctor was handing her medication and a five thousand dollars government check, she keep the five thousand dollars check and trash the medication, to continue to receive a raise on her tax payer government check she sometimes practice and rehearsal her Ventriloquist act in her doctor’s office, sometimes she includes the medical doctor staff in her rehearsal. This 51-50 is called a disability so being a Ventriloquist may qualify.. in the 51-50 your housing arrangement is sometimes included. I was shocked when she told me about this situation, she invested her tax payer government checks into her show business career she said the government said if she get a real job in the real world it will not effect her government checks because they look at it as getting better mentally but she didn’t need to get a real job in the real world because every year the tax payers give her a pay raise..she had no idea about the 51-50 government check.. maybe now I understand why things are the way that they are today because people are pretending to be mentally ill for a five thousand dollars pay check and free housing.. she showed me a few of her government tax payer 51-50 checks..I asked her how long is this program she said she’s set for life as long as she keep practicing her Ventriloquist act on her front porch for her nextdoor neighbors to watch.
Here we accidentally fall into a situation because of society misunderstanding and judgement.. should the family in the restaurant be arrested for loosing their money or wallet putting them in a situation where they can’t pay for the food, should a stranger playing the dummy role pay for their food with their money that he owns.. the art of ventriloquism is a unbelievable art I tell you the truth after the Ventriloquist told me her story I was upset so I put my Ventriloquist dummy in a Ventriloquist trunk I went downtown to the health department to apply for the 51-50, I was interviewed in a private room with some kind of doctors, in the interview I practice and rehearsal with my Ventriloquist dummy a couple weeks later I received a 51-50 tax payer government check in my mail box, I was really angry, it wasn’t five thousand dollars but it was decent amount the reason my Ventriloquist friend get five thousand dollars is because every year the amount go up, I cancelled the request and returned the check….true story it’s real I witnessed for myself.
This workshop is to inform Ventriloquists that there are cash money grab opportunities in the United States of America that tax payers give away for free. Not just for Ventriloquists, the Ventriloquist part is judgement by some people but anyone can play the dummy and get paid for it.

If you can get a family member such as a under age cousin or your friend children to pretend to be sad and constantly crying the American tax payer will write you a check as the guardian, it’s part of the 51-50 but for a child..in this case you will be the caretaker for the child of the family or your friend children because you brought the child into the mental health facility and not the parents.. when your cousin or friend children go in for the interview if you drop a coin on the floor your cousin or friend children will start crying, when the interviewer ask you and your cousin questions the response is always sad, the tax payers have a money fund for 51-50 children but as the guardian you receive the check for the child..the tax payer also will give you money to buy clothing for the child, there’s also free rent provided for the guardian and the child, transportation is by request this means if the request a truck for the child transportation then the American tax payer will buy the child a truck. anxiety and depression are very important concerns of tax payers in children.

FUNDING YOUR VENTRILOQUIST CAREER
I talk about this with a sour cream and onion with garlic rotten egg breath… student loans, car payment and rent right out of highschool.
now I understand student loans are very important but if I could go back to my pass with the knowledge I have now, I would have taken those student loans and put it in my Ventriloquist career, it’s the same deal except you are studying for what you really love and want and not because you’re going to need a real world career such as a no showbusiness career such as a doctor or lawyer..if I can qualify for a $80,000 student loan, I can qualify for another type of loan, just something to think about, if a bank says you qualify and if you’re not in a very serious situation.. think about your Ventriloquist career, think about how that bank loan could support your Ventriloquist career.. for example if you really want a Ventriloquist career the student loans can support your Ventriloquist career and you take the doctor career as a plan “B” meaning try to take the student loans in two directions together, Ventriloquist career and doctor career…I remember paying high price rent, now I understand why people have roommates but I am a very private person and sure I did the roommate thing, I think some things are worth paying for such as privacy, so if you can find low rent, it will help you in funding your Ventriloquist career but remember there’s a difference between renting and owning… Let’s talk about weddings, I spent money on marriage items, just imagine taking that experience, that knowledge and that funding and that planning to add to a Ventriloquist career, getting married is a learning experience and a business experience, so take notes during wedding plans, the same places you get a wedding license you can get other business licenses the same places you get a divorce is the same place you go for your Ventriloquist career documents, some call notary offices, are you following me here… let’s talk about all that time and money you waste on dating and one night stands, why not turn that time and energy into your Ventriloquist career, when you go out on a dinner date, while you sitting down at the table give that person a stack of your business cards and tell them this is job interview, and that you are looking for someone in marketing your business, if the person says they’re looking for a relationship tell them this can be a business relationship, using your dating time is a good way to find people to help you in your business, I mean how many times are you going to do something over over over on the dating scene… imagine how many employees you would have had by now if you would have used your dating life as if it was you using it for hiring people to help in your show business Ventriloquist career, I mean if you’re going to spend money just to go on a date with someone get something out of it besides getting crabs and a transmitted disease and trust me it’s nothing fun about getting crabs all over your genital from having sex with someone, it’s disgusting, anyway moving on!..
think more about the things that you have, think about the people around, think about a positive way of living and don’t let the angry employees at the grocery store bother you, remember hurt people hurt people, just look at them 😞 and tell them to get well soon! any employee that treats a paying customer badly is sick, this means there’s a business selling shoes so you go in to the business, you see some shoes that you like, you take the shoes to the cashier, the cashier says to you the shoes cost ten dollars, you pay the cashier ten dollars then the cashier punch 🥊 you in your face and so remember to always say get well soon… invest in what you are passionate about, invest in something you love that is a hobby or a art, I am hoping that hobby or art is ventriloquism.

I remember a Ventriloquist that would take his puppet on the subway train to entertain the passengers riding on the subway, this selfpromoting Ventriloquist went from doing shows on the subway train to many television shows such as with Hollywood celebrities stars like Steve Harvey, the Ventriloquist character is very popular the character name is Cindy hot chocolate.. using social media should not be your main promoting tool, when you are selfpromoting your Ventriloquist career you want to make some noise and drop some jaws, you want to do something that is jaw dropping at the right place at the right time, the perfect opportunity can set your Ventriloquist career off like a rocket 🚀.. you see selfpromoters running on the baseball field during the big game sometime, knowing that they are going to be arrested or kicked out the ballpark but look at all the advertising and views that they have received for that short moment..as a ventriloquist you want to selfpromote wisely, you don’t want to be hated you want to gain more..more not less..but? sometimes the hate thing just might work in your favor…so think about what you are going to do before you do it..I think a Ventriloquist interrupting a weather forecast news person doing the weather live on location would be pretty good for publicity, a Ventriloquist figure asking the weather girl where’s the nearest Walmart or the Ventriloquist dummy just standing in back ground waving at the camera, yes that would be selfpromoting and some of the weather reporters might even chat with you and your character live on camera, you never know when you are in the right place at the right time, yes I ‘v seen news reporters on a location let people give a shout-out live on camera.. this is why I say you want more not less, don’t be rude, I mean yes sometimes selfpromoting is rude but try to get in smoothly and out smoothly but if you need to be rude to promote “your” product then be a gentle rude, but please make being rude a very last option or decision, some times being a selfpromoter you need to shove the product down people throats… What is the purpose of selfpromoting? the purpose is to grow your numbers to boost your own Ventriloquist career, to be seen, to be heard, a real easy way to selfpromote these days is becoming a troll on a celebrity or politician social media, kick up some noise in the comment sections such as the catch me out side girl.. as a ventriloquist selfpromoting I think you really want to brain storm on hitting and quitting, so the secret is to go viral and then lay low because what you want is more not less, watching your numbers go up on social media is going to be amazing but that’s not the point, your brand is the point, your product is the point, hit and get out the way,let it ride for a couple of weeks then resurface or return back to the public eyes.. going viral on social media can make you or break you this is why you need to hit the viral mark pack your bags and go into hiding..when you return back in public your product will be known to more people without questioning you, if you do the opposite your product may be damaged so throw the rotten egg in the classroom and go on vacation, when you return from vacation, they’ll remember your rotten egg and your product will have been removed from being damaged,can you understand that, I tried to explain it as best as I could… let’s try it this way going viral on social media is not a small thing, it could be permanent and it’s not just one location it is worldwide, the world wide web, =www= one photo of you can go viral, what ever you come up with in your brain storming remember to get out the way, let viral carry your product, and then return to the public after the viral has settled down, that is a good way to selfpromote your Ventriloquist career “going viral” and trust me I have personally been in a viral situation..I know the effects of it.
on the subject of going viral…mae west was a very popular actress during the radio days, she appeared on a Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy show where she really pushed the envelope, well, you can say that episode went radio viral, Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy went into hiding and mae west was banned from radio.
A Ventriloquist dummy holding up the lines at the airport will get you negative or positive views but we are not interested in views, we are interested in the growth of our product.. when you do a stunt or publicity stunt like this make sure you have all your selfpromoting material ready such as your Ventriloquist character wearing your T-shirt 👕 or your contact information on your Ventriloquist traveling trunk..this stunt is done on purpose so don’t take up to much of the public time.. doing this stunt people are going to take out their smartphones to record and take pictures of you and your character holding up the line.. you want reaction not interaction, pretending to be looking for your passport while your Ventriloquist character amuse the people waiting inline or digging through your small luggage bag with your Ventriloquist character looking around outside from inside… Your Ventriloquist character going through security at the airport would be interesting, especially a crowded airport, remember to have your promotional gear ready..it is wise doing public stunts like this, for samples only, a quick selfpromoting gimmick then move on.. when you get to the ticket counter, you check your pockets “where did I put my wallet” turn to the people behind you waiting in line, to apologize I am sorry for taking so long, then look in your small luggage bag and your Ventriloquist character stick their head out you push their head down, your Ventriloquist character stick their head up again to look around and you push your Ventriloquist character head back down and say “there’s my wallet”… you can design some of your Ventriloquist figure bodies just for selfpromoting and these bodies are not built for performing on stage.. they can be made of cardboard that is strong enough to support the Ventriloquist figure head, these bodies can be used for display such as sitting your Ventriloquist character in a chair at the airport wearing your T-shirt or a very light weight body for walking around bits and skits or standing in line at the airport.. also be sure you keep in mind when making the selfpromoting Ventriloquist figure bodies “portable” or small or compact or on the go.. a body built for not for performing, keep that in mind.
take advantage of people stuck in their 🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑🚜🚑🚑 cars in traffic, one thing about being stuck in traffic, it’s all over the world. a Ventriloquist selfpromoting in traffic is a wonderful opportunity..I truly believe selfpromoting should be done in the physical, so that the viewing audiences can get the real live product, even if it is for one minute or even less than one minute. . when people are stuck in their cars in traffic you have a captured audience, this is a opportunity to put your money where your mouth is and give out your merchandise “your merchandise” for free, give it away, and it will help you in selfpromoting, give out some good stuff, this is a marketing tool, so when you invest your money in your giveaway items, it’s all about quality and not quantity.. take your income tax refund check and get some selfpromoting items made for good quality give aways, take your government check and get some cheap stuff made for free giveaways..when people are stuck in traffic ask first before you give the item away, because the rude selfpromoting is not a good way when people are stuck in traffic, try to cheer them up, ease their pain, “hello would you like a free T-shirt?” if they say yes gently hand them your free giveaway tshirt and move on, also let them see the item in a sample, like maybe you or your Ventriloquist character wear the T-shirt 👕. what should you put on the tshirts? put anything you like such as a joke or something cute or even a website but I suggest you put you and your character photo on the front and something creative on the back.
selfpromoting can be done by taking out an ad on a billboard along the freeway.. a ad of you and your character on a bus stop bench or even on the bus would be very good, social media companies are always looking for advertisers and advertising on social media is pretty affordable, it’s cheaper than advertising on a freeway billboard… don’t forget about the old school ways of selfpromoting, they still work today, old school ways such as recording your own advertisement and playing it loud over your car loud 🔊📢 speakers while you drive or park in a shopping center parking lot, play your podcast show loud in your car at the college parking lot with your trunk open full of free T-shirts, with business cards, the old school ways are still usable today such as handing out flyers to random people, or at a public park you can use one of the picnic tables as your display table, then have some folding chairs for people to sit and watch you do a little sample of your Ventriloquist act,you will need a portable p.a. system or sound equipment, public parks are crowded on holidays so a holiday would be a good opportunity to grab a picnic table to setup for selfpromoting and if people show up and start 🪑🪑🪑 sitting in your folding chairs, pass out some sealed treats like a bag of potatoes chips and sealed drinks while they are sitting in the chairs waiting for you to give them a demo show, don’t be a cheap person if people show up to your selfpromoting shows such as this one on a crowded holiday in a public park at a display picnic table, they will see the chairs, the 🎤 microphone, the sound speakers, the T-shirts,they will be interested in the event out of curiosity and then you will say ” lady and gentlemen boys and girls have a seat and a treat because it’s SHOW TIME! I have done many selfpromoting at the public park auditoriums but the auditorium is not like a public park picnic table, the auditorium you need to make arrangements with the Park and recreation office..I did many many many selfpromoting at the public library, I also did selfpromoting at the boys and girls club, and other places but I quickly want to mention as a selfpromoting Ventriloquist you really want to keep moving and the public park auditorium or boys and girls clubs take time in planning, the picnic table selfpromoting shows and the public library selfpromoting shows were faster for me, I am just letting you know some situations may take longer than others, so if you can create fast and simple ways in selfpromoting your Ventriloquist career than that would be more fun and enjoyable I think but if you want to chase directors and leave emails, and wait on hold on the phone for along period of time, well, hey, go for it, it’s your Ventriloquist career not mine.
TROLLS 😠 🤣 selfpromoting Ventriloquist “The troll gimmick”
WOW! I remember those days 😁.. I did mention my company has a selfpromoting studio, this studio has equipment to get the job done… “being a troll” WOW! so I mention hate can also work in your favor…I am trying to find the correct way to explain “TROLLING” for selfpromoting purposes because I want you to be successful in using the trolling gimmick, now remember trolling is only for selfpromoting you’re not going to actually become a real troll you just going to use it as a gimmick… always be ready for a backlash and be prepared to go into hiding so that your product do not get damaged.. accept to be banned from platforms so choose your battle grounds wisely, accept to be attacked digitally so protect your equipment, hit and quit, so throw the rotten egg into the room and get out the way, no, trolling is not anything like viral, trolling is being a unexpected visitor or a unwanted visitor, or a party crasher.. if you do it right your in box should receive some messages and your email may just explode! and if you receive a banned from the site then celebrate 🥂.. make sure you get your promoting items for the trolling gimmick ready and all set up so you can be already prepared..remember you want to hit the comment sections good, be rude,be sexy, be loud, and be NASTY!,, and break some of the rules,be sure you read the rules and then do the opposite,make sure the chats and comments are going on at the time of performing your trolling gimmick, remember make some noise and drop some jaws,then get out the way… remember to have your selfpromoting material ready before the trolling gimmick begin because being seen or heard for one minute is a big deal..

Why? because as artists of the art of Ventriloquism we want to become masters of the art, let me begin here..today we have very skillful voice animators that I see every day that don’t look like what they sound like, these days the phone is used for more than just talking such as taking photos and listening to music. Skillful voice animators or voice actors can change their voice to any age group such as an adult creating the voice of a child, doing this over the phone is the world of fantasy to a listener on the other end of the phone, to create a greater illusion the voice magician or voice animator produces a photo for the listener creating imagination. what is fantasy? fantasy is a physical imagination, what is imagination? imagination is mentally.. on Halloween Day we can dress up as anyone we imagine to be creating the fantasy world on Halloween Day. when does the alter ego arrive? The alter ego arrives when the imagination and fantasy is combined to create the illusion of life, meaning the day of Halloween is everyday. making someone believe you’re someone you’re not over the phone is one thing but creating the illusion of life in the real world for real world purposes is another thing. a alter ego for a Ventriloquist can be a very good thing such as Charlie McCarthy was to Ventriloquist Edgar Bergen, in a interview Ventriloquist Edgar Bergen said he wished he was like Charlie McCarthy where he could walk in to a room and the room would light up, meaning Charlie McCarthy was welcomed where ever he went. You can’t do that! a Ventriloquist on the radio! no way! that’s why we sit here in a imaginary circle with an open mind, I was watching a Ventriloquist on the television show America got talent, she didn’t use a ventriloquist figure, but a lot of voice throwing such as eating while watching the game on television as the announcer call out the plays and scores or something in that nature, I applaud her for originality, it was something fresh and something new. What will you create that will take your Ventriloquist career to a higher level, no need to rush any thing, take your time to create your art, you may think it takes five minutes to write a joke but sometimes it takes five months to make it a good funny laughable joke.
as we learned in this workshop about the undercover police officers and the social media company what you see and hear is an illusion… the artist creating art is the greatest gift of all…look at this shiny apple in the photo just like Adam and eve did in the garden of Eden and as Ventriloquists our powers are in sight and sound and hearing and our super powers of creating of silence…what are the possibilities of our abilities, the towers of Babylon had a possibility to reach the heavens so the god of universe said let’s go down and confuse their speech so that they can not understand one another..look at the illusion of life in theses dolls,yes dolls but I did include one human being just to see if you can find the real human.. as a ventriloquist you need to explore all images and material of your imagination.. when the god of the universe seen the towers of Babylon reaching his domain the gods said man has a very large imagination and we must put a stop to this because we do not know what they will do, you can read this for yourself in the Bible, the gods tremble of a human being with an imagination to create.

Welcome to the notes on yes! On theses workshop notes we’re going to answer with yes in hitting the road! yes! to transporting your Ventriloquist act and traveling locally with your Ventriloquist act. You may say That you can not do any shows because you don’t have a car to drive, I say yes you can do shows without having a vehicle to drive. When I was in eighth grade instead of going to school I was making money traveling doing shows with my Ventriloquist act, and if a poor ghetto eighth grade kid can do it you can do it. Yes in eighth grade I gave school the middle finger and grabbed my Ventriloquist trunk and hit the road, I dragged Sammy Ventriloquist trunk from town to town and from city to city and state. In highschool I traveled with a live band of musicians and was part of the management company. Even though I was a Ventriloquist I was a member of the band, and even though I was a member of the band the management company put me in the company as a ventriloquist. being a part of a band of musicians I get to really travel many places doing shows as the warm up act or the opening act. I say you too can travel with a live band of musicians to be their warm up act or opening act. I say yes to getting on your city public bus with your Ventriloquist trunk to go do shows, when I was in eighth grade I would take my maps and my Ventriloquist trunk with Sammy inside many times on the city public bus, and yes you can take a taxi, there I was in middle school having a taxi take me to do shows and back home, today it would be called Uber or Lyft or ride share..all around the world there’s cheap and affordable transportation.. there’s subways and trains and metro, and charter bus and in California I have traveled on Amtrak to go do my Ventriloquist shows, I want to say Amtrak was a beautiful ride and it was nice and fun, I really truly enjoyed traveling on Amtrak…yes I have put Sammy in a gym bag to travel to a near by show on my bicycle during my middle school days but today the way of the world public transportation and a smartphone for a Ventriloquist is Yes yes yes! as a Ventriloquist today you have no excuse to say no I don’t have any transportation to do a Ventriloquist show, in some of my cases the client or show booker paid for transportation, yes in some situations all is paid for, food, room, transportation,etc.. yes, being a Ventriloquist you can become a spoiled little brat, ha!ha!, and yes as a middle school Ventriloquist I was spoiled rotten, can you imagine a Ventriloquist ghetto boy in highschool staying at the Hilton hotel, can you imagine a poor ghetto Ventriloquist in highschool at the Tropicana for a meet and greet!! the Tropicana!! WOW!. yes you can do your Ventriloquist act, you just need to get out there and go!..stop saying no you can not and start saying yes to the art of ventriloquism. I tell you the truth, if you say yes and continue to say yes to being a Ventriloquist, no matter if you’re a beginner or amateur or professional or semi pro or old or young or rich or poor, the art of ventriloquism will always say yes to you.

The second Ventriloquist can make more ventrilqual illusions greater.
THE MANIKIN
On this workshop notes we are going to briefly talk about how the Ventriloquist can add another artist to their Ventriloquist show…..When I was doing live comedy clubs I ran into a old highschool classmate at a shopping center, I said what have you been up to these days, she said I am a fashion designer and fashion model, after explaining her art to me, I put her in one of my comedy clubs act, to help promote her fashion career. her name was Lisa and Lisa was a hit sensation on stage with the comedy bit that I wrote for her, that made the audience jump out of their seats with laughter. let me explain the bit I created for Lisa art and talents….Lisa was a human manikin in her little clothing store window in a shopping center back in the day,she would stand completely still with no movement at all in her personal design fashion store clothing window for the public viewing.. in my Ventriloquist comedy club bit I had snyder snyder snyder my other Ventriloquist figure and Sammy my other Ventriloquist figure sitting next to Lisa, Lisa face is makeup like a Ventriloquist dummy, as I stand in front of the audience introducing my act or talking about the weather Lisa move away from Sammy and Snyder Snyder Snyder and back to next to them, I turn to look back at Sammy and Snyder Snyder Snyder and Lisa but they are all in the original position as before, so I face the audience to talk about sports, now Lisa is directly standing behind me silently making funny faces and then she quickly returns back to her original position, I turn around to look at Sammy and Snyder Snyder Snyder and Lisa and they are sitting completely still with out movement. I say to the audience let me now introduce you to my Ventriloquist dummies, I pointed at Sammy, that’s Sammy, and then I pointed at Snyder Snyder Snyder, that’s snyder snyder snyder and then I pointed at Lisa sitting completely still, that’s Lisa! Lisa walk up next to me and I introduced Lisa to the audience then we talked about her fashion clothing store… how I performed the introduction, some ventriloquist trunks have wheels on them, the Ventriloquist can push or pull these trunks, I sat sammy on top of one Ventriloquist trunk then pushed the Ventriloquist trunk on stage, the second Ventriloquist trunk Snyder Snyder Snyder sat on top, I pushed that trunk next to Sammy on stage then Lisa was sitting on top of a third Ventriloquist trunk and I pushed that trunk up on stage next to Snyder Snyder Snyder,Lisa and Sammy and Snyder Snyder Snyder sat perfectly still sitting side by side.
SPEECHLESS
on this workshop notes I will share a private party trick that I call “speechless”. I hope you will do a study on this Ventriloquist trick and learn to perform it in your act. Let me begin by saying my way of performing this trick was very gruesome and scary for the birthday party audience, it was so realistic I could not sell it in my Ventriloquist act, meaning I had to stop performing it completely for live audiences, because in the show agreement contract you lay your cards down on the table and show your playing cards,this means the person booking you knows what to expect such as animal tricks or swallowing a flaming broom stick act, and when they seen in the show agreement contract the cutting my tongue off bit they said cut that bit out. What is the speechless bit? it’s a trick I perform with my sidekick Sammy, it’s where I tell the audience that there are rumors that I do all the talking, I take out my scissors and cut my tongue off, I grab a white handkerchief to stop the bleeding from my mouth, as the blood cover my hand and white handkerchief Sammy begin to sing, the bloody handkerchief becomes filled with more blood as I am trying to stop the bleeding from my mouth and Sammy and I exit the stage. I like doing this bit but as a closer because it leaves the audience puzzled and it is a mystery. what these workshop notes are on is you the artist creating out of the ordinary, something never seen before by a Ventriloquist, something fresh, something new or create something done by a Ventriloquist in ancient history. as a ventriloquist you are a artist and Ventriloquism is a art. The speechless bit was short lived because it was done too quick and too real where some audience members ran out side the room. let me explain how I did the introduction..” ladies and gentlemen,boys and girls there are rumors that I am doing all the talking, well that rumor is not true”..I quickly take scissors from my pocket and quickly cut my tongue off, I quickly grab a white handkerchief from my top pocket to cover my mouth and remove the white bloody handkerchief with a expression of pain then my sidekick Sammy begin to sing, while I look and show the audience my cut off tongue laying on the bloody handkerchief, gently touching around my mouth with the bloody handkerchief as more and more blood is around my mouth, Sammy end his song and we exit quickly with the ventriloquist in pain and speechless. When I did this bit I was a young Ventriloquist and I was really pushing the envelope in those days, I was a hungry Ventriloquist in creativity, I always had something new in the lab, always working on new bits and skits and jokes and characters and tricks. I no longer use the “speechless” bit so if you can find the secret ingredients of how I created it,it is yours, I no longer need the speechless bit, it’s no longer my material, I am retired from live on stage performances…if you find the secret ingredients you can keep the bit for your very own Ventriloquist bit, you may say if I had to take this bit out of my act why should you want it, I will tell you why, because this bit is a shocker and a attention getter if done correctly, the looks on the faces of the audience when they thought I cut my tongue off and Sammy was singing. I will give you a hint, in the introduction of the speechless bit be quick and use slight of hand, the rest is a simple singing Ventriloquist act and this bit should be no longer than a minute and a half and I suggest that you use it as a closer, because you’re “speechless”…. I will share what you need to put the bit together. #.1. a white handkerchief…#.2.the magician tongue…#.3. plastic silver color scissors..#.4. a package of red Kool aid…#5. a small pocket flat sponge…#..6.prictice slight of hand… when you finally put the pieces together, rehearsals and rehearsal the speechless bit then test it on a friend, make sure your friend stand about ten feet away because I forgot to mention this bit is not for close up and if done correctly your friend is going to be shocked 😲!.

The microphone sound system volume is turned up high, your amateur Ventriloquist lip control skills are good enough not to be seen moving because the size of the head of the puppet head provide shade, this means the audience do not have a clear view but can notice your lips are not moving. In this ventriloquism illusion the eyes see the big mouth moving and hear the sound of the voice,making a pretty good illusion that you the amateur or beginner are a pretty good Ventriloquist,of course this gimmick is for temporary use and over time you will not need them.another way using the big head big mouth puppet is putting a microphone in front of the ventriloquist puppet and one microphone directly in front of yours,this way cover or hide your lips and the puppet voice is heard clearer…the second gimmick of ventriloquism for a beginner or amateur ventriloquist is the ventriloquist dummy answering the ventriloquist question with body language, such as answer yes or no with the movement of the Ventriloquist puppet head,in this ventriloquism gimmick the Ventriloquist figure communicate with body language, eyes ,face, head, arms, eyebrows,etc.some ventriloquist puppets have moving parts.This gimmick is very good for a Ventriloquist that has a message to deliver where the ventriloquist do all the talking or speech or a beginner Ventriloquist that quite haven’t got the lip control down yet but ready to start performing as a ventriloquist, as I mentioned the Ventriloquist doing all the talking,a amateur standup comedian can use this gimmick by doing his standup comedy act and have the puppet listening, watching and laughing, I call this gimmick the silent partner..take a look at ventriloquist ronn Lucas in the photo, the puppet has a large size mouth, as a amateur or beginner to use the ventriloquism gimmick that we are taking notes on,this is a example puppet size that you want to use, I went to watch ventriloquist ronn Lucas show at the comedy and magic club in California, I was very happy to see ventriloquist ronn Lucas show, the illusion of life with a soft puppet was amazing!. These gimmicks were created by me as a young Ventriloquist they helped me get some amateur stage time in on my training in the performing arts of becoming a ventriloquist. remember as a beginner you are a student of the art and as a amateur you a performer, let me clarify a amateur Ventriloquist and a beginner Ventriloquist.as a beginner you are most of the time reading, writing, practicing, rehearsing, studying, and creating “your” art and entertaining with your talent at the breakfast table or making the delivery person at the front door hear a baby crying in his delivery truck or someone see you having a conversation on the phone and can’t believe what they are hearing from the voice that is coming out the phone, that someone is so nosey you hand them the phone, and then that someone put the phone up to there ear to hear no sound at all then you move your hand like it’s a puppet to carry on the conversation, the amateur is the Ventriloquist that is moving up ladder in the art of Ventriloquism, when I was a amateur Ventriloquist I was hungry for the stage, I was everywhere! talent shows, talent contest, family and friends birthday parties and celebrations, church events, charity functions,etc. as a amateur Ventriloquist get on stage as much as possible because guess what after amateur night is the biggest night of your life! it’s show time baby! You’re turning PRO! or semi-pro!. yes that’ the way it works, beginner-amatur-semi,pro/pro. You need to study the art of ventriloquism alot and practice, and don’t be a afraid to be creative, bring something new to the art, how about a talking penis as a Ventriloquist puppet, as a amateur Ventriloquist you might be able to get away with that maybe not as a professional,so take advantage of your creativity with the Ventriloquism gimmicks. as a amateur Ventriloquist I didn’t have much material or content so I wrote gimmicks and created gimmicks to complete my act, and as I wrote more material such as jokes, skits, comedy routines, the gimmicks became less but I kept them in my back pocket for if I ever needed them. I think the fall a part puppet is a wonderful gimmick for a amateur Ventriloquist, I built a ventriloquist puppet when I was a amateur where the body fall apart and I am just standing holding the puppet head,why this gimmick because I was amateur and I needed comedy, I had not much material, and this gimmick got me laughs through the years,the gimmick went like this, a well dress Ventriloquist walk on the stage and his Ventriloquist partner is well dressed, everything looks good, then the puppet arm fall to the floor, then the other arm,oh it’s shocking to me the Ventriloquist then the puppet body fall forward to the stage floor,I look at the ventriloquist dummy head that I continue holding up in conversation position and the dummy turn and look at the audience and says “I’m naked!” I try to cover the dummy head with my other hand and the dummy head says to me “you got your hand on my stick!” then turn to the audience and says “quick somebody bring him some lotion!” “not so rough lover boy, your ashy hands!” “get me out of here!” and me the Ventriloquist exit the stage with the ventriloquist dummy head moving as if it was talking to me the ventriloquist.the fall apart body was easy for me to build, the body was a cardboard box covered with nice clothes and the arms were contacted with a string to the Ventriloquist puppet head inside the body that I could release with my finger so that the arm fall to the floor, the body was leaning or resting on the puppet head for support so when I lifted the puppet head up and with a gentle push the puppet body falls forward to the floor.. gimmick aren’t good or bad but your ventriloquist act should not be built on gimmicks alone, the gimmicks that I created for my Ventriloquist acts was because I was a overweight stage eater just constantly eating stage time, I was always creating new comedy skits and bits. remember notes in this workshop based on Ventriloquism gimmicks, remember the ladder of show business and becoming a artist and remember gimmicks are a temporary tool, not a permanent solution. let’s talk about the forbidden fruit called LIP SYNCING!!! what a art of ventriloquism gimmick, wright! but don’t worry this workshop art of ventriloquism gimmicks are for beginners and amateurs Ventriloquist so it’s ok! lip sync is a very good gimmick for the amateur singer Ventriloquist that wants to get there songs heard by an audience, I see nothing wrong with a ventriloquist singer song writer lip syncing to their own song and I must mention doing a very good job at the illusion that they’re singing live,so take some acting classes or rehearsing and rehearsing the songs over and over with your puppet. is it okay to lip sync another person song, the answer to that is,well, to me that is not a gimmick and these notes are based on Ventriloquism gimmicks, I think lip syncing a recording artist song with the audience should be ok, that would be in the audience participation category, a gimmick is a tool that will help you move up the ladder of your Ventriloquist career. is lip syncing the art of Ventriloquism? The answer is yes,then why is it forbidden? The answer is, lip syncing is not forbidden for beginners and amateurs Ventriloquists but it is definitely forbidden for the semi-pro and professional ventriloquist if a semi-pro or professional ventriloquist lip sync this is almost moving into the bait and switch category, and scammers category and also people maybe yelling fraud on your Ventriloquist act reputation, why? because you’re getting paid to sing live, not for giving a recording of yourself singing, when you become a pro everyone expect perfection from you and I mean everyone. as a amateur Ventriloquist singer of your own songs you better lip sync your ass off because once someone pay you for your singing Ventriloquist act the lip syncing is over and done with, so stay in the amateur shows spot light until you are ready to become semi-pro or pro. but I want to get paid for my singing Ventriloquist act, is what you ask? as a amateur Ventriloquist the safe way to get paid using this gimmick is for you to move up to semi-pro, charging fees or admission prices will be by donations, this means the audience will pay what ever “they’ choose for your ventriloquist act not your suggested fee or demand fee, now once you decide to go semi-pro you can never go back to amateur, the only way to go back to amateur is retire your ventriloquist career.. You may be confused about shows of category, I will explain here. In my generation of entertainers most young performers wanted to be adult entertainers. The adult entertainment world was a success for careers of show business seeker. There were pornstars, movies stars, radio stars, recording stars and night club entertainers stars, so many opportunities to become rich and famous in show business as an adult entertainer and performer.if you wanted to be a superstar in modeling the porn business was a very successful career for some adult entertainers and There was a stripper night club almost in every city for dancers and comedy club was every where for comedians and this is my entertainers background, I lived and grow up in the adult entertainers world, listening to stand up comedy on audio and watching stand up comedy on films for study of the performing arts. ha! ha! I was in middle school about age 13 making more money doing Ventriloquist shows than my friends working at McDonald’s! WOW! I am a old fart today but I look back at my teenage days and say WTF!..I was a young ghetto boy making real money, with my ventriloquist act name vann duke and Sammy. on these workshop notes I will give you my secrets on my birthday shows success..I get paid to perform different places but the birthday party shows was a cash cow for a little eighth grader living in the ghetto.. sometimes in showbusiness you don’t appreciate the dream such as meeting famous people and traveling places of your wildest dream.. I will start at the beginning, when I first started performing my Ventriloquist act it was for family and friends on holidays..next door to the house I grew up in was a preschool called mr.jackson preschool, I would do story book reading to pre school kids with Sammy..to my unbelief the kids from the next door preschool parents was leaving messages on my mother answering machine asking to book vann duke and Sammy for their children birthday party, the preschool kids would go home and could not stop talking about vann duke and Sammy to their mother and father..I learned how to grow the Ventriloquist birthday party business from doing shows at many other preschools and promoting the show at public library, my library show was free but I used it for promoting, the mr.jackson preschool show I never changed it,it was a hot ticket! The mr.jackson preschool show was storytelling with a wisecrack ventriloquist doll named Sammy..I did the mr.jackson preschool skits at many paying preschools that book vann duke and Sammy..I traveled a lot performing the mr.jackson preschool skit, I name the act the mr.jackson preschool act.. the act was easy for this middle school ghetto ventriloquist because Sammy was just acting a fool and kids loved it.. simple, children story books and a ventriloquist doll,WOW!…. 8th grade in showbusiness, getting paid!! my friends were committing crimes to make money, they seen me doing shows and wish for something that I had,my friends in middle school could not believe how much money I was making with my Ventriloquist shows,my friends said they do a crime to make money then two days later they’re back out on the street doing crime to make money, I tell them one show and I am set for weeks,did you hear me I said one show.. think about it,if I am set with one how set am I with five…it was gravy! for this teenage Ventriloquist living in the ghetto. The library shows were free shows that lead to birthday party shows. I learned how to market the birthday party business in middle school,my main business focus was putting preschools and libraries in a circle and the birthday party in center of the circle, preschools paid good money but the birthday parties were the winning ticket for me….in middle school me and my best friends would eat at McDonald’s fast food restaurants and clown the workers when ordering from the expensive food menu, back in the day McDonald’s had a regular menu and another menu with the high price food, as a young ventriloquist living in the ghetto I was well to do,it was gravy, it was gravy with mashed potatoes and butter! I have given you my successful secret of marketing my birthday party shows with my ventriloquist act…I give this secret away because I am retired from live stage shows. I still think about all that cash in middle school I made with Sammy..all that birthday cake I eat and fruit punch to drink..I am so happy that I didn’t have to commit crimes to make money like my friends in middle school..I am honestly telling you, during middle school one day I walked in to the house coming from school and my mother said “vann! boy! you have ten messages on my answering machine!” of course this eighth grader was wondering what the hell is going on,until my mother begin to play every single one of the messages for me to hear. those ten messages were birthday party shows..wow!! WOW!! remember what I said about one show and I am set for weeks!!!.. even if I had one show I never stop hustling in show business, always turning the one show into another one and another one and another one,why? because I didn’t want to end up like my friends in middle school and highschool.. that is my secret,the drive to succeed not to end up a loser or in jail. here you look for a purpose in your life, like I did as a middle school kid living in a poor neighborhood..as a ventriloquist you need to brainstorm often about your art….take notes of theses secrets,every word in these notes are part of the secret from the beginning to the end.

on this quick royal kingdom presents production company WORKSHOP study and notes we are going to look at fliers.The photo above in this note and study is a pretty good example. This flyer reminds me of when I was performing live shows, it’s how the fliers on my ventriloquist trunk was designed, photo and name with my contact info….The example flyer above is for a upcoming show for a ventriloquist team many years ago. on the flyer you can see the performing dates, five days in total. The photo is very catchy, it’s a eye getter, meaning it will for sure get your attention, and that’s what you want on your fliers, so people will become interested in the info of your message. The flyer also mentioned the price of admission, it give the website address for contacting..this flyer gives the name of the bar or club,etc. It also mentioned the environment setting letting you know this show is not for kids,but you can always contact the flyer to make sure for the age entry. This is a very old flyer but it’s still eye catching today. I remember when I was very young, I would keep concerts fliers that I attended if the fliers were glamour and eye catching..From the business card to the fliers to the event itself you want all to be very good. also as you can see the entertainers give credit to the flyer maker..are posters and fliers the same, fliers are smaller than posters but if you have the funds you can have posters made for fliers. a poster can be seen more visible than a flier. Take a look at the example flyer in the above photo, it’s definitely a ventriloquist show for adults and I would definitely want to go see this show, after all I have five show dates to choose from. and the ventriloquist figures in the photo seems like they are ready to bring the house down. I chose this flier for an example because, just look at it…I want to go see this show!

I should mention I am a fan of the adult audience ventriloquist shows such as ventriloquist Otto and George. If you are a ventriloquist for children audiences the example photo can still be used for notes. When I performed live for children audiences my fliers were very bright and colorful, even though I am a adult audience entertainer I still have business cards and fliers for children shows and children audiences, my business office files were for all audiences. if you are just a specific audience entertainer then your business files of advertising should be focused on that target audience. I have said many times I can not write a kids joke at all because my entertainment back ground is adult entertainment. I am a writer of my own material, I can not write material for kid audiences but my studies of children shows give me the knowledge to entertain them.. don’t let the example flyer distract you on your own flyer, if your fliers are attention grabbing then that’s what these notes are about, a flyer that makes a person say out loud “I want to go see this ventriloquist show!”
7 tips setting up your ventriloquist show. #rkpshows
on this workshop notes, we are going to briefly take a quick look at setting up your ventriloquist show for live kids audiences, such as for libraries and preschools or even the boys and girls club.
In this note taking and study we will use the photo for the blue print for the subject. we will start with the room,# 1. look at the room in the photo, some school class rooms can have the chairs and tables moved to another location to provide more space, space for your stage, most libraries have a room that is used for meetings and entertainment,this room has plenty of space. # 2. Let’s take a look at the audience, the audience is sitting on the floor, this is good for kids because they are comfortable sitting or laying on the floor, they will also be looking upwards slightly at you as if in watching TV while sitting on the floor, in the photo the ventriloquist is at a distance from the audience but if your audience is sitting on the floor you can be near or at a distance they can still see you clearly. # 3 The ventriloquist in the photo is wearing a hands free microphone, these types of microphones are very good for the ventriloquist to use, this type of microphone is directly at mouth level so that speaking is loud and clear, these microphones are wireless or cordless and give you freedom to move around..# 4. if you look in the back ground of the photo you see the audio sound system speaker on a speaker stand, this speaker sound system is good for this room size,most speaker sound system are a pair but this kind is perfect for the kids audiences in a small or medium size room. Let’s take a look at the ventriloquist trunk, # 5. the trunk has the ventriloquist booking information on the front facing the audience, this is good, this is a way of networking or self promo or advertising. Your booking information on your ventriloquist trunk is not just for audiences, it’s also when you are traveling, such as airports, hotel lobbies, small coffee house,bus station, train station, yes I am serious your ventriloquist trunk is a portable billboard. # 6. now I would like you to look at the ventriloquist in the above photo,look at her sitting position, you may want to sit on a bar stool or you might want to sit your ventriloquist figure on a ventriloquist dummy stand during your shows, you may want to sit in a chair how ever you choose to sit make sure the sitting position doesn’t spoil the illusion, what’s the point in speaking with out moving your lips if your little partner don’t look like he or she is talking, this means sit in a way that will create the illusion of life for your ventriloquist figure, sit side by side or close enough where the audience don’t see your arm in your partner back,take a look at the photo,the ventriloquist in the photo sitting position is very good, I can’t see her arm in the ventriloquist puppet back and her ventriloquist puppet look life like. # 7. always arrive early enough to set up your equipment or setup your ventriloquist show,if the show starts at noon try to get there one hour early.

THE VENTRILOQUIST MASK.
on this workshop notes we will mention the ventriloquist mask……….. I had so much fun before I retired from live on stage shows using the ventriloquist mask! I had so much fun and the audience watching did too! putting the ventriloquist mask on the boss face of the company the employees would scream with laughter while I stand next to the boss with a innocent look on my face listening to the words coming out of the big boss of the company mouth. The company or corporate shows are a win win with the ventriloquist mask… I also used my ventriloquist mask at birthday parties having the parents at the birthday party do a rap battle using two ventriloquist masks at the same time. The ventriloquist mask act is called “the human dummy” the human dummy can be done with out the ventriloquist mask where the ventriloquist tap the back of a person neck for them to open and close their mouth while the ventriloquist do the voice and talking. The ventriloquist mask cost less money than a ventriloquist figure, so maybe the human dummy act can be more affordable for some people seeking affordability in show business or entertaining. my ventriloquist mask was so much fun and less work as a ventriloquist because a real good human dummy help me out in the show entertaining the audience. I also like watching other ventriloquists performing the human dummy act on stage because it’s also RAW meaning unrehearsed. The ventriloquist mask is a good item to have in your show business equipment closet. the ventriloquist mask is a show stopper, it’s one hundred percent show business investment in entertainment for the amateur or beginner or the professional ventriloquist.

on this note workshop we will take a look at the art of ventriloquism. actors come from the theater of many many a century ago and magicians has been around many many centuries, when you look back in time you can see the art of puppetry was all around the world, in fact you can see puppets in some of the oldest countries in the world such as China, Japan and India. as a ventriloquist you are a artist, a artist in the performing arts. study the history of the theater, study the history of the magician, study the history of puppetry. the youth of today in America are erasing history because of lack of teaching, the elderly are here to teach the youth but when there’s no elderly to teach the youth then the youth becomes self destructive in lack of knowledge not knowing where they have been or where they are going, only knowing the now. When there’s history, then there’s learning and when there’s learning there’s knowledge and wisdom. if your friend put his hands in the fire,his hands will burn and if you see your friend do it and then you put your hand in the fire your hand will burn also this is called the monkey see monkey do, in the need of the elderly the lesson of the hand in the fire will be corrected and the monkey see monkey do will gain knowledge… if you study your art pass, and future you will have wisdom, knowledge is power. it’s okay to study, it’s okay to read, it’s okay to write, it’s okay to grow in your art. If you do not have money for studying of your art,we have resources all over the world to help you in your art, sometimes the best way to study is hands on,this means living and learning that means if you don’t have money you need to enroll yourself in the school of hard knocks, this means learning from your mistakes as you grow in your art. as a artist you want to try out new things when you are in school of hard knocks, you also want to keep notes on what works and what did not work, for an example a joke, a song, a poem, or a standing position in front of an audience. if you can join the elderly artists of your art that would be a wonderful thing for you to do and if you are a elderly artist of a art it would be a wonderful thing for you to share your knowledge and wisdom with the artist of your art. as a artist try to find as much history of your art as you can, I bought a one hundred year old book written by a ventriloquist, the book was old but in good condition. the writer has passed away but his knowledge, his wisdom and his life experiences are still here today.. I am thankful for that one hundred year old book, I study and gather so much knowledge and information from the one hundred year old book. the ventriloquist is for sure a artist that doesn’t get the appreciation that they deserve I mean you never stop learning as a ventriloquist, well, let me speak for myself, I am very busy in the art of ventriloquism, I am never bored, I am never empty, a matter of fact my art is very very tiresome, being a ventriloquist is a positive situation for me, if I didn’t become a artist in the art of ventriloquism I would have became a dummy just like all my friends in highschool and middle school, always getting into trouble.

on this workshop notes we are going to take a look at working during holidays, bringing in extra money besides our norm ventriloquist shows. In America a for sure money making holiday for the ventriloquist is Halloween, some people are already afraid of dolls, today on the market you can find many creepy dolls for sale, as a ventriloquist you want to cash in on a spooky show,the creep factor is already there in the art of ventriloquism. If you can put a show together where voices are saying let me out! Let me out! of a coffin ⚰️ and when you go to open the coffin the audience see that it’s empty. I have seen walking ventriloquist dummies,not dummies just one and it’s creepy seeing a ventriloquist dummy walking on it’s own two feet, I don’t know if you can find one these days but if you can, this is for sure a hit show, especially when the ventriloquist dummy starts to walk towards the audience, as a ventriloquist during your holiday show you want to add storytelling, especially for halloween. Before I retired from live on stage shows, I always added games and prizes at my holiday shows. during Christmas time you are Santa Claus and your ventriloquist figure is a elf or your little helper, the Christmas shows are full of prizes, singing songs and storytelling is a wonderful ventriloquist act… during Easter you may be a host more or master of ceremony more than you are a ventriloquist, this means you will not be in one location most of the show, magic tricks are a must to have at your Easter show, egg painting, face painting, Easter egg hunt, and chocolate candy lots and lots of chocolate candy. Your ventriloquist figure can dress up as the Easter bunny or you can use a ventriloquist rabbit puppet. Putting a holiday show together is a very good investment because once you have put the act completely together you can sell it every year of course improving the act each year. They’re nothing more than a theme show,a show with content based on a subject.not like a birthday party, a birthday party you’re the live entertainment and what ever you choose to amuse the audience with is up to you not as such with the holidays, for an example if you bring your halloween ventriloquist show to a Christmas party, that will not work out very well for you business wise…so… remember this.there’s celebrations all over the world, as a ventriloquist you would want to study different cultures and traditions, so you can create a ventriloquist act for theses holidays. Irish holidays, Jewish, Chinese holidays, etc. do your homework first, remember you want to celebrate the holidays not offend the holidays no matter the culture, take notes on all good of the celebration, learn some songs of the celebration such as may 5th the Latin holiday. many businesses celebrate the holidays, and may want to hire live entertainment to help the company celebrate the holidays, this is where you can mail your business card or fliers to a business, make sure your business cards are done professionally, always attach a reminder saying “the holidays are here! Please invite ventriloquist so and so to your next celebration 🎈🎈 or party or event” sometimes a Christmas card would be nicer than a business card during Christmas time, on the front of the Christmas card your photo and inside the card your information and asking to be invited to the next company Christmas party as the entertainment!. all contact information included, such as website, phone number, email,etc. Take your time in building your holiday shows, putting a full hour theme show together will take time. always remember there’s a birthday every day, I remember entertaining at birthday party shows, they really kept me busy back in the day, remember this, as a ventriloquist you need to create your own jobs, my show business manager used to say “keep your ear to the ground”.

On this workshop study we will take notes on working in the real world versus working in showbusiness. This study will be short and to the point, these notes will be to give you a view point of thinking with a open mind in the real world. Let’s start with rapper cardi b asking her fans at a concert on a hot day to throw water on her,in return the performer throw a microphone at a fan, let’s talk about Dave Chappelle being attacked on stage by a audience member, let’s mention rapper Drake, audience member throwing items at him on stage. Many many years ago if you were a awful performer the audience members would say BOO! BOOO!! until you leave the stage.I remember Sammy and I performing at a famous comedy club in Hollywood California,most of my career I am a adult entertainer and before going on stage the female comedian on stage before me was performing dirty material and the audience was eating it up,so when I was getting ready to go on stage the club agent said to me “now you keep it clean” I go up on stage doing a clean comedy skit with Sammy but I see the audience was not enjoying the skit so I started doing my dirty comedy skit then the audience was eating it up, the club agent ran to the control booth and turned off the stage lights so then I let Sammy go like a wild dog, the club agent turned off the microphone, Sammy said with out the microphone being on “the sign on door says age 21 and over BUT where the fuck are the milk 🥛 and 🍪 cookies!!!”.. when I walked off stage the club agent said why the hell did you do that, I said for you to keep it clean”, I said to the club agent “I didn’t say anything” the club agent said “I heard all of it!” I said to the club agent “did you see my lips moving” the club agent said “no” I said to the club agent”see now you need to apologize to me” the club agent then lost her mind saying “you said it! you said it! I know you did!!!. true story. What notes can you take from that true story or cardi B or a booing audience or even a bias agent,yes there’s bias club agents, talent scouts, and show business managers, what’s it about, it’s about a up coming star not being in the shadow of another talent,this means you get the crappy gigs and the agent or manager favorite acts get the nice gigs. In the real world at a real job it’s still the same, this means the promotion you have been working very hard for might go to the management favorite employee or friend of the family or even worse, a relative that knows nothing about the job position. keep in mind competition is always in the business world and yes show business is a real business, as a ventriloquist you need to stay ahead of the competition and you may ask who’s my competition as a ventriloquist, I will quote a line from a movie call “the professional” the quote is “EVERYONE!!” except the Lords of the art. in the real world you may work 12 hours shifts at a job, let’s be clear you are living someone else’s dream, let’s come to a understanding you never see the owner of the company that you work for or nearly see them much, you are the little person with a big dream just like the owner of the company that you work for, say to yourself if the owner of this company can have his or her dream why can’t I?.sure we all need to make a living, and living should be what we enjoy doing, and enjoying living. My first job ever was performing as a ventriloquist, I was In middle school traveling with a trunk with a ventriloquist doll inside name Sammy, all I knew was ventriloquism, my friends was doing crime to make money or to eat,but not me, I had Sammy and the art of ventriloquism. when I met my high school sweetheart life became not so sweet, she tossed me in to the real world with all her might, I’ve became a work acholic for her with a real job in the real world, before meeting my highschool sweetheart I was a work acholic for ventriloquism.today I can look at both sides of the coin of the real world and show business,this is what I see, the writers are on strike in Hollywood, because of the new comer AI, los Angeles city workers are on strike, what do both of these subjects have in common, what they have in common is unions. read this workshop notes twice, you’ll find useful information that you can brainstorm for your ventriloquist career. we covered so much ground on this subject,we talked about competition,we talked about bias,we talked about self sufficient, we talked about real world versus show business world..can the Hollywood writers win against AI,the answer is there’s always competition and there’s always new up and coming and the new up and coming will not be in the shadow so as I quote the line from the movie called the professional “EVERYONE!!”…in closing I would like to say my highschool sweetheart base on this subject was for an example of becoming unionized,this means I was no longer working for my passion or for myself.
Puppet and dummies.
on theses notes we are going to study a ventriloquist puppet and a ventriloquist dummy. a ventriloquist puppet is usually made of soft material, they can be in image of an animal or a human. a ventriloquist dummy or doll is usually made from a hard material such as wood, plastic, fiberglass,etc. a ventriloquist puppet is easier to make than a ventriloquist doll or dummy, basically a sock puppet would be the easiest way to make a puppet, a hand 🧤 glove can be made into a ventriloquist puppet. as long as the material can be created with a moving mouth,then so be it can be used as a ventriloquist puppet. The ventriloquist doll or dummy are not as easy to make, this is why they cost more money than the ventriloquist puppet, a ventriloquist puppet can be made in hours but a ventriloquist doll or dummy will take time. What is the difference between a ventriloquist doll or dummy? body size is the difference but you can take a ventriloquist dummy head and put it on a ventriloquist doll body and still have a ventriloquist dummy. A ventriloquist doll size is from 20 inches to 30 inches, the ventriloquist dummy size start from 35 inches and up, the 5 inches between are judgement inches,this means the image or appearance of the figure, it could be a doll or a dummy,as I mentioned earlier you can put a ventriloquist dummy head on a smaller body to travel and still have a ventriloquist dummy, also a smaller body use less space inside the ventriloquist travel trunk, so yes you can put a 42 inch ventriloquist dummy head on a 32, 33, 35, inch body,why do this? for many reasons, and one of those reasons would be because maybe a ventriloquist can only afford to buy the head, and not the full ventriloquist dummy, after buying the ventriloquist dummy head the body will be very affordable but remember even though the body cost less than the ventriloquist dummy head,the head and body must match, meaning you don’t want a giant head on a tiny body and also remember the body may be small but the head should be able to rest on it, meaning the head should not be too heavy for the body, simply because you want to be able for your ventriloquist figure to sit down on its own.

The answers are up to you, yes or no. what is a career? let’s talk about the mad scientist in his basement looking for the answer to help the three legged cat walk again, believe it or not this man in the basement has a career as a so call mad scientist. a career is not a job, the elementary school child in a play, then in drama class in middle school, then in highschool drama class and entering college theatre,this child has followed a field of being a actor or actress. a child finding a joy in ventriloquism, will become a student in many art forms such as acting, writing, animation, puppetry, magician, music,dolls, speech, and storytelling, as this child grows so will the knowledge of study. Just like the mad scientist in the basement looking for the answer for the three legged cat to walk. a career is a life long investment in a field of study of doing something, “something” a master of “something” yes you can have a ventriloquist career and not have wealth, or be famous, a career is “something” a person do, it’s what they love no matter the financial situation. Their are doctors that go to poor countries to work, not for money but for the career subject, being a doctor is who they are and what they are. The child in the elementary School play will someday achieve the ultimate goal and more. being a ventriloquist is not just one subject,so remember having a ventriloquist career is a lot of work, it’s study after study, it’s practice daily, it’s rehearsal and more rehearsal, it’s creating, it’s inventions, it’s being a actor, it’s being a comedian, it’s being a magician, it’s being a clown, it’s being a voice actor, it’s being a puppeteer, it’s being a singer, it’s being a storyteller, it’s being a writer, it’s being a poet, it’s it’s being, maybe I better stop here,I don’t want to make you afraid of having a ventriloquist career..as you can see you have a very busy career as a ventriloquist and let me say all that I have mentioned above are subjects you need to study,not master but have them in your back ground but I say it would be nice to take a class or course on some of them, and even some research on those subjects would help you in your ventriloquist career.
POSITIONS of the ventriloquist.
To me it doesn’t matter if you are the greatest ventriloquist in the world once I see your arm sticking out the back working the doll dummy, that’s wright DOLL DUMMY because now that’s what it is to me, I am out! I seen Edgar Bergen lips moving but he still kept me hooked in to the world of make believe, he provided an escape from the real world into the world of imagination, Charlie McCarthy was a character created by Edgar Bergen that I still watch today, when a ventriloquist turn the ventriloquist figure head in a complete circle I am done with the ventriloquist act but when Edgar Bergen did it with Charlie McCarthy just a couple times I stayed hooked in to the world of imagination,me believing Charlie McCarthy was not being hurt in the world of imagination,I think when Bergen did it he warned the audience beforehand and made it fun, this is what happened.. a actress asked Charlie if he could do this,then the actress turns in a full circle and Charlie McCarthy head turn in a full circle after her, when other ventriloquists do this bit or skit, it’s used as a punchline,this punchline might get you laughs but it takes all the magic away and remember this… ventriloquists are magicians also…..the notes on this subject of the ventriloquist positions are stand shoulder to shoulder with your little ventriloquist partner so the audience doesn’t see your arm moving in the back, I must say that I am not the only ventriloquist don’t think that the ventriloquist figure head should be turned backwards or in a full circle,I have seen a few professional ventriloquists in teaching say the same but my thing is the arm,I don’t know what it is, when I see the ventriloquist arm moving in the back of the figure it takes all the fun out, it’s like a couple years back a mid evil time show had a Pepsi or cola can sitting on a table in the film, people were very vocal about that, I think the name of the movie was “Thor” not quite sure but my point is your audience is your audience for a reason.please note Watch your ventriloquist positions on the stage, maybe sit or stand but what ever you choose remember you are a magician, don’t let your audience see your secret.. ln this part I want to share a true story about being a ventriloquist and studying the art of a magician, when I was a very young boy Sammy and I would do storytime at preschools theses preschool shows lead to shows for birthday parties,one-day I did a birthday party where the mother was so,so, I don’t know, okay, here is what happened… so I am packing up after the show has ended and the birthday child mother and father approach me as I’m packing up,Sammy is sitting on top of his ventriloquist trunk,the father is saying to me your really good, I really enjoy the show, the mother is looking at Sammy as if, I don’t know,she touched Sammy hand,the mother asked me is he real? then she asked me do he talk to me by himself, I looked at the mother and father and the father carried his wife away. I will never forget that day, DAMN I’M GOOD! ps: you ventriloquists nowadays talk too much.

When you’re ready for the ventriloquist figure that you really want then lay the sock puppet down and pick up the ventriloquist dummy that you really want, doing it this way you don’t miss a beat, you can continue on going because the only thing that changed was the ventriloquist figure. Let me be clear maybe the sock puppet is the ventriloquist partner that you really want, many famous ventriloquist use a sock puppet, and many professional ventriloquist use sock puppet. I used all types of ventriloquist dummies on stage, I have own some very expensive ventriloquist figure and I prefer the semi pro ventriloquist doll, simply because I am a writer and the material is what I mainly focus on.when I use a full size professional ventriloquist figure on stage it seems to be distraction to me, the semi pro is light weight and in my eyes view,this means easy for animation and control. The word on the street is the professional size ventriloquist dummy is good for close up and distance audiences, but I have used semi-pro ventriloquist figures for far and near audiences,it works for me because of the comedy writing. do you need a professional size ventriloquist figure? only you can answer that question, but remember you are a ventriloquist and a ventriloquist is a artist and a creator,this means what works for Willie Tyler and Lester or Terry fator or the ventriloquist at your birthday party might not work for you.

My older brother was a artist, he could paint and make cartoons, my younger brother could dance and me well, I could write, and I could make people laugh with humor..some people may say That they don’t have any talent or gifts or even a hobby..I would watch my younger brother 😲 WOW the people watching him dance with dance moves,I so wish I could dance,yes I was a fan of my younger brother,he was a poplocker dancer and a breakdancer, back in the day of the booga loo dancer,my younger brother was very popular as a street dancer, they had dance crews that were like gangs my brother was always being challenged, sometimes we would have to run away because of so many challengers,my younger brother name is won and his dance street name was the magic won.. anytime there’s a dance battle a lot of people would stop what ever they are doing and run to watch the dance battle, you would see store owners, fathers,mothers,the mailman every body running to the show down of the dance battle in the middle of the street. dance crews versus other dance crews, teammates against other team mates, the magic won stood alone and he loved being a pop locker,day and night working on new dance moves,he even let me help him in his creating, he was amazing, in fact I witnessed some amazing pop lockers and breakdancers calling out my younger brother I would snatch him and run, I would say don’t do it! don’t do it because I knew the challenge was way to great for the magic won and sometimes my younger brother would just pose at the challenger but would not bust a move, I would ask later why you didn’t bust back he would laugh and say I am stealing, meaning he is going to take the challenger moves make them his moves then come back and clown the guy with his own moves, he said that guy can’t step with me! THE MAGIC WON!, and I ‘v seen him pose with a few challengers then come back and clown them, what is clowning? it’s when the magic won see the dancer that challenge him before,now the magic won do a dance, where the challenger is located like a taco bell restaurant all the kids are looking who is “the magic won calling out” so all people start to arrive for the battle, out come the challenger the challenger says to the magic won you call me out? magic won step to the challenger face with out saying a word,the crowd begins to scream hey batter! hey batter! SWING! the low riders pop the trunk and the base boom, the battle begin in the taco bell parking lot on Crenshaw Blvd, more people on the street run to watch the battle, the magic won made the battle a circus show because he already knew what the challenger was going to do, magic won clown this challenger with no mercy.. don’t you miss the innocent days of teenage life, what a amazing gifted and talented dancer the magic won….wow!

In these notes on choose an audience we will take notes and study on the ventriloquist career based on the audience business…when I first started entertaining as a ventriloquist, I was in middle school,I really wanted to become a night club entertainer and I was too young but I didn’t give up hope,in middle school one day me and my friend Marcel was walking pass a neighborhood night club and the up in age owner was out in the parking lot fussing to himself about the customers from last night leaving beer bottles and trash on the ground of the parking lot “if theses m-f-er!..n-words! think I am going to be cleaning up after them every mother F-N night they got another thing coming!” so Marcel and I quickly approach the elderly owner and slowly, gently take the broom and large garbage can from his hands, the owner look at me and Marcel,you guys want a job,we both said yes! we will clean the parking lot for you, the night club owner said when you guys are done come inside the club and see me, me and Marcel cleaned the night club parking lot and trash and wash dishes, etc,for quite some time, we’re about grade eight in middle.. I was going to tell the night club owner I was a ventriloquist but Marcel told him before I did, the club owner let me the middle school ventriloquist entertain during happy hour..it was a dream come true!!.. today I am a adult entertainer, even though I have entertained in front all audiences,I really enjoy the adult material that I use..the notes we take are based on just that content and material.
(Children audience or kid show business). being a kid show entertainer is very lucrative and it will be a long lasting career of many generations. my thing about being a kid show entertainer is that it effects your personal life off and on stage,this means no smoking, no drinking alcohol and watch the words that come out your mouth on stage and off stage, and being a role model and always setting to be a good person and you’re a open book for society..you will make a lot of money but that’s pretty much it.

I am a writer first then a ventriloquist but I am a ventriloquist first, confusing? let me explain. before I became a ventriloquist I would write short stories.. poetry and jokes..I had a small Manuel script company for my writing, I’d send my material to publishers and also back in the day they had theses places that pay for your material and there were also contests for writers to enter for cash and prizes I was in elementary School working on becoming a successful writer then in middle School I had found the art of ventriloquism and added it to my writing company and it’s been a match made in heaven ever since,the point is, I am a adult entertainer and I can’t write a kid joke, when I was a writer in elementary school my writing was very advanced, how can a ten year old boy write such controversy, so it’s much better if the words on paper can come to life then the reader can see for themselves that the writing is not very controversial, that’s why I became a ventriloquist so my imagination can be seen in the eyes of make believe… there’s nothing real here,only my imagination. being a adult entertainer your audience age level is on the same level as yours so there’s a common ground, if you tell a joke the joke is understandable, if you sing a song or poetry the audience can relate.
CHURCH ENTERTAINER ______________________________________________being a ventriloquist for charity events or fund raising can be fun and tiresome, I did church shows,and well, let me just say easy breezy, so if you’re looking for a simple gig try the charity events,do you get paid? yes, and no some charity events hire you, meaning they want you to raise money,they want you to get people to come to the charity events or party, your job is to get the crowd in a good mood to donate to the cause, as in help dogs that are blind in one eye see with two, just an example..the church entertainer is also in the church nursery, this is Sunday school, when the parents are in church you and your ventriloquist puppet entertain the children with songs and bible stories,do you get paid? as a staff member yes, other than that you will be donating your ventriloquist talent to the church. ______________________________________________ (Family and friends). Driving jobs, if you get a driving job such as a Uber or taxi cab,you meet passengers every day those passengers can take a look at your business cards, fliers,etc in the back seat of your vehicle,they can listen to your show on your audio system, instead of you turning on the car radio,turn on your show, entertain your passengers with your ventriloquist show demo,but don’t be pushy if they choose something else let them have what they choose and there will be a passenger that choose your ventriloquist show,this is what you want,if you have to be pushy then it’s not going to be good for your ventriloquist business, you will get yes and no,the no you let go and the yes you keep in mind,maybe give a free t-shirt to wear with your name on it to a yes passenger,the passenger get a free t-shirt and you my friend get a walking billboard, I think a Lyft or Uber or taxi driver job is a very good job to have for a ventriloquist, your audience is in your back seat,make your back seat a comfort setting to build up your audience, while you drive them to their destination,I am sure people have smartphones but it’s the same old same old but now they have a show that they have never seen and heard before. It’s a good way to quickly demonstrate your ventriloquist act and very good way for self promotion,if you are doing a show at a comedy club don’t be afraid to give your passengers free tickets to the show,free tickets? yes when the club owner see people coming to see your ventriloquist act the club owner will be happy..
Wedding store: if you work in a store where they sell wedding dresses and things to do with weddings, it’s a good opportunity to get your ventriloquist act booked to be the entertainer at the wedding. You may be the cashier or the person that make the dress,it still give you a chance to ask if they would like entertainment for the wedding and hand them your business card if they say yes but always ask first,in a conversation setting only remember you are a employee on company time and they are customers, you are a ventriloquist I am sure you can create small talk or chit chat to get your ventriloquist act mentioned for wedding entertainment.
Truck driver: being a truck driver that travel from state to state is very good for a amateur ventriloquist,Why? because you get to travel, now I would say this would be good for the adults because you get to hit the comedy clubs, the night clubs and bars.. when you visit a night club go get the contact information on your down time, and if they have a open mic night,go! Grab your ventriloquist partner and get on every stage that you get on, hand out business cards every where your truck take you, when you get back home,make phone calls to all the places you visit and business people you met. the truck driving is a good job for networking and free travel, understand business people travel for a living so maybe you might want to talk to some business people about doing business as a travel person to get some notes from them.I think if you are a ventriloquist and your job is traveling that’s a very good thing, let’s say you’re a ventriloquist and your job is flight attendant,that means you get to fly and do your ventriloquist act in different countries,the smart thing to do is advertising your ventriloquist act social media in those countries that you fly to then in your homeland on your day off do shows, this is planting a seed of growth.

What’s the difference between fliers and business cards?
Advertising and marketing is very important for a ventriloquist. some ventriloquists may have been in show business for many years and may have not known how self promotion works. here we take notes on understanding the business of the eyes for the a pro or beginner ventriloquist. A flier or fliers means now or at this time,if you give out fliers that means it is happening now,if you give out a business card it means let’s talk, let’s do business let’s make a flier or maybe I will do business with you in the near or far future. A business card is information for getting in contact with a individual or anything like that,a flier is a event happening now or a showing of a ventriloquist show with date, time,and location.fliers are hand to hand, fliers are passed out to the public, a business card is passed out to a private person,not everyone get your business card, unless they visit your private business or you give it to them privately so basically fliers are for the public and business cards are for personal or private.if someone has your business card it means some way some how it was a private dealing. Let’s talk about brochures, are brochures still needed today,I say yes,a brochure is a small magazine or booklet of your ventriloquist act or show,it is a business card and a flier combine together, brochures can be used for private like a business card or public like a flier but keep in mind that a brochure is usually to impress, it’s something like a tuxedo,so keep that in mind.let’s talk about websites, it’s ok to have a website for your ventriloquist business,now let’s be clear we live in a time of social media,but this study is on business and marketing and I truly believe the business card and fliers and the brochures are better to do business and marketing, simply because people want to do business with you not a computer,the best business people get their hands dirty, when the phone ring they answer on the first ring, I think a website is the computer version of brochure but if you have a show that’s a web show then do your show online but I am speaking on the subject of business, meaning put your website show on a flier for the public,give your business card to special guests for your website show and have a brochure for business office meetings.me personally doing business is a up close and personal encounter,so meeting at a coffee shop and having a cup coffee to discuss business is good if the deal is a big deal,I think going out to dinner with clients for business deals as a team merger is a good thing such as meeting the writer,the actors,the production crew and such,I think a zoom meeting is a good way to conduct business,but not deals,deals should be done face to face or have your representative stand in for you..when I was a young boy my manager would sign show deals for me,these show deals are written contracts that can be used in small claims court or civil court,they were called show agreements between the management company and the client. when you become a professional ventriloquist you do more business than show,so if you make a living being a ventriloquist,be happy and go do business. I tell you having a manager as a young ventriloquist made me very happy, because before I joined the band of musicians with their manager, I was my own manager so when I was hired to be a opening act for the band of musicians manager company, I could just have fun being a ventriloquist. not saying anything bad about the ventriloquist business or show business,I am saying show business is a business more than a show…..so some audiences have no clue that doing a show is actually work, when they see the ballet dancers on stage some audiences have no idea of training and study learning to be a ballet dancer or the ventriloquist on stage speaking with out moving his/her lips while playing two characters and animating one and remember your lines,so me having a manager to do the business part was a big help for me,so if you like to join a talent management company, I say that is fine,but I say for a ventriloquist you don’t need to join a talent agency unless you are a world famous ventriloquist or something like that but me personally I say even if you’re a world famous ventriloquist the talent management company is a better business deal.
CAN A SHY PERSON BECOME A VENTRILOQUIST.
Can a shy person become a ventriloquist is a good question because shy people miss out on many opportunities because of the shyness.. here are some notes and tips for the shy person that would like to become a ventriloquist or maybe you are a ventriloquist but you are shy. Being a ventriloquist and you have a nervous problems with speaking in front of people or just being in front of an audience is basically normal and healthy but don’t become so afraid you freak out, when I get on stage of course I am nervous, nervous of what? is the question,first of all you want to be there, other wise you would have not showed up, another thing you want to perform otherwise you would not be on stage,so being nervous is a natural functioning of your body and emotions. All eyes are on you,you are now the beautiful girl in the room,you have all the attention,you are a super hero with super powers when you are on stage,the people are looking up because you’re a giant like king Kong,then you think to yourself these people are here to see me,these people want to see my super powers, while I am up here on stage I am their hero,why should I be afraid,I can make them happy,I can give them an escape from their troubles,I can bring them joy,I can make them dance,I can amuse them, I can thrill them,I can amaze them,I can give them make believe. All these wonderful thoughts you can be thinking before going in front of a live audience,then you will understand more about being nervous which is part of being shy.always remember being a ventriloquist you have a little helper with you,so if you ever get too nervous or too shy lean on your ventriloquist partner to help you out, bring to my mind, rehearsal rehearsal rehearsal with your ventriloquist partner just for this very moment,yes it’s been a few times when I forget my lines on stage and my ventriloquist partner name Sammy would step in to help me get back on track, so the more you practice with your ventriloquist partner the better your confidence will be, I don’t know what it is but many professional ventriloquist has recorded that sometimes on stage the ventriloquist partner take on a life of it’s own.practice and rehearsal will help you with your shyness. Before you take on any serious shows, I really think you should stay with the family and friends shows for a while, family and friends shows are audience members that you know not strangers like at a concert stage event. The family and friends audiences are safe for you to build up your ventriloquist act and skills. if your brother or sister are getting married you make sure that you be the wedding entertainer, at your friends birthday parties you make sure that you be the live entertainment,at your family Christmas party make sure your ventriloquist act is the perfect gift.how to move up to the next level from family and friends shows would be at your job office party such as a celebration or promotion or Christmas party or in your school class room,or school play, this is you leaving the family and friends shows slowly easing into the public shows, because you want to get control of being shy in front of a live audience, the problem with shy entertainers is that they are nervous around strangers, going from family and friends to classmates and coworkers will train and educate the ventriloquist that is shy with stage and audience lessons.this will take time but it is good learning time,to learn how to be comfortable on stage and comfortable in front of a audience, because it’s nothing like having sweat in your eyes on stage from being nervous.I think all “ALL” ventriloquists should start with family and friends shows then ease out to the public shows,I also think a ventriloquist should always study and create not only focus on the stage shows or being a performer even if that is the main goal,I think a ventriloquist should go see other ventriloquist shows even if you’re not a fan, I really think the big guy should come down off his high horse to visit the little guy,give the amateur ventriloquist some support or feedback then the shy ventriloquist will have more confidence in themselves,what this means is a ventriloquist like Willie Tyler or Jeff Dunham should encourage the unknown ventriloquist or help them push forward. I tell you the truth I will never ever forget speaking to ventriloquist Willie Tyler and Lester on the phone as a middle school ventriloquist,never ever will I forget!we talked about ten minutes or so,he didn’t know me but he is world famous and he took the time to talk to this poor little ventriloquist boy living in the ghetto,he gave me hope and he gave me drive to achieve my ventriloquist dream.
I AIN’T GOT NO MONEY!
We are going to learn how to be a broke ventriloquist and be good at it.you are so broke you took a penny out your pocket and Abraham Lincoln was wearing sunglasses, you’re so broke your kitchen refrigerator is boney.yes say out loud I am a broke ventriloquist! If you don’t have money for a ventriloquist figure,I will give you some tips and notes on how you can still be a broke ass ventriloquist and be a good one.first let’s think about what can your broke ass use for entertaining a audience,…puppet,you can draw a face on your hands and use your hands for your stage partner, your hands will not cost you anything,.. voice,if you practice and study far ventriloquism which is also called the distant voice you can use vocal illusion for a magic trick or show,also study vocal magic or magic with your voice.. voice,you can have a conversation with a voice inside a trunk or shoebox,also the telephone voice is a little lower than the distance voice if you learn the telephone voice you can have a telephone conversation with a voice that seems to speaking from the phone, another one is called the baby cry,I did the baby cry effect many times,I hold a baby that’s crying in a blanket on stage in front of a audience and no matter what I do the baby will not stop crying, so I throw the blacket with the baby inside high up in the air the empty blanket lands on the stage floor,..sounds, if you can make different animal sounds, you can create some routines using animal sounds,I had a cat inside a box “meow” but when I open the box,the box was empty,..audience volunteer, the human dummy is a very popular ventriloquist bit,where a real person stand next to the ventriloquist, every time the ventriloquist tap the back of the person neck the person open their mouth with out making a sound and the ventriloquist provide the voice… you’re walking on stage when a voice says ouch! get off me!! you look down at your feet and a voice says you are standing on top of me, you take your shoes off and put your socks on your hands,now you’re singing with a sock puppet…the thing about be a broke ventriloquist is that you need to study, practice, rehearsal and rehearsal, be creative and you will make up the differences with out money,but I do want to say you should grow as you advance,this means if you start off using your sock as a stage partner that sock should become better and better, you may always be a broke ass ventriloquist but you will be very good at being one.

(I am a broke ass ventriloquist with no show in my business) these notes are based on getting your broke ass some shows.. first you need to pull pockets inside out to make sure it’s not a penny in there, next open your wallet and start counting,not dollars bills but I.O.U. bills. let’s start with appearance, your appearance as a broke ass ventriloquist is very important,you may not have money for brand new clothes so buy a second hand or find a outfit that you can wear just for show business,nice pants,nice shoes,nice shirt and even a nice jacket,keep this outfit in a clear clean bag on a hanger,keep a low price bottle of perfume or body freshener, have a shaving kit available, mouth wash and so on. if you are so broke of a ventriloquist that you can not get any show bookings with business cards and fliers,what you need to do is start at the bottom,and this would be creating your own shows,how? by standing on the street corner,no dummy! not that! I am talking about becoming a street performer, being a street performer is a good way to start from the bottom and work your way up, some places to be a street performer you need a permit and permits cost money but your broke ass don’t have any money,so you need to find your own spot, usually where people go shopping or travel or gather, choose a spot or location or street where you can build your audience,now remember this your broke ass is trying to build an audience,why? because you big dummy you don’t want to be a broke ass ventriloquist anymore,so being at this spot at the same time on a chosen day is very important, let’s say Sunday from nine a.m. to ten a.m. you will be there doing your ventriloquist act,also remember being a street artist your appearance is very important and your attitude towards your gathering crowd is very important, so please have a good attitude,next have a tip jar so people that enjoy your performance can drop a tip or donation in the jar,after the show is over you should be dreaming about someday your ventriloquist act growing bigger and bigger,enjoy your street spot,keep it clean before and after your street performance.. ventriloquist Otto and George started out as street performers and today he’s world known,he is my favorite next to Megan piphus and Edgar Bergen.maybe you should become a student of ventriloquist Otto and George,he was a very raunchy ventriloquist but he is the master of street artist ventriloquists,also another street artist ventriloquist is the on the train ventriloquist with hot chocolate, you may want to become a student also.. keep in mind Starting out as a broke ass ventriloquist has potential.

VENTRILOQUIST STRATEGY TOOL ‘DIVIDE AND CONQUER’
In this study on business we are going to take notes on making money by stretching the audience. let’s begin by mentioning theses notes are for the ventriloquist that speaks more than one language. The title is correct our notes are based on strategy to devide and conquer,the tool is language. First let’s get it wright, when you use this strategy you will not combine the audience, because you are focused on accumulation of funds..in this strategy for example if you speak French and English you will perform only for French speaking audience then after business become slow in the French speaking audience you move on to the English speaking audiences, simply meaning to set up shop and then move on to the next community or town or country. The Spanish classes you had taken in middle school can now pay off for you in your ventriloquist career, why do not mix the audiences because this is a strategy for financial gain, there’s some places that only speak one language and if you speak that one language then you are in business to provide a service for them and that service is your ventriloquist act.. if you live in America and speak German, African,etc, that means you can travel world wide for your shows,then return back to America to do shows.as a ventriloquist you are a communicator and speech is communication so if you can communicate in many different languages then you are in a win win situation.what you want to do is keep your ventriloquist act the same only change the language. for an example if you sing in Spanish as a ventriloquist then set up shop for the English speaking audiences then sing the same songs in English. The idea is to take advantage of communicating to more audiences.take a look at your television,how many different stations it has for it’s viewing audience, when you walk up to atm machine it ask you for a language,or when you call a business on a phone call,press one for English press two for Spanish, you as a ventriloquist can use that same concept if you speak more than one language. Use this tool for a traveling ventriloquist act, when business become slow in one language, move to the next language for business,this is why you do not combine the audiences so you can keep working,if you combine the audiences using this tool strategy then when business is slow it’s slow all over,so the French community speaking audiences become like the television, change the station to the Japanese speaking audiences if you speak Japanese and French but never do both audiences at the same time because of resources,you want to stay in business, use your resources wisely.think of it as growing two trees one tree has apples 🍎 and one tree has oranges 🍊 when the apple tree is running low on fruits go over to the orange tree then by the time the orange tree is running low on fruits the apple tree will be fruitful again then you move back over to the apple tree and back and back and back you go,now just think if you pick fruit from both trees at the same time.

in every art there are a chosen one battles,in the hoods and ghetto they’re called battles, such as Micheal Jackson versus prince, Edgar Bergen versus Paul Winchell, Dunham and Lucas.. it’s a grab of the fan base,a box office ticket sell..America got talent created two chosen one for the art of ventriloquism but had know idea that they did so. Those two ventriloquist are Darci Lynne farmer and Megan piphus..as we look back in time audiences can feel the rivalry with Paul Winchell and Edgar Bergen,edger Bergen and Charlie McCarthy was a classic smooth act and Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney was energetic as in saying move over old man there’s a new kid in town..Paul knew about these rumors of ventriloquist rivalry because he admits on a ventriloquism lesson vhs tape he was making at the time when he was up in his age “I am a Bergen man, I always was a Bergen man”,in show business there will always be up and coming new artists but theses two queens of the art of ventriloquism are really making a dent in history…let us honor Megan piphus, she has made history in the art of ventriloquism, as the first black woman on sesame street,she brought the art to America got talent television, she sing opera as a ventriloquist and most importantly her ventriloquist figure tells “yo momma jokes” and I am a fan of yo momma jokes, she’s a very good speaker, her stage presence is very professional, if you are a beginner artist Megan piphus is good for research and study learning,she is a student of Sheri Lewis.. let’s mention our second queen of the art of ventriloquism, Darci Lynne farmer won the America got talent golden buzzer after Megan piphus appearance on America’s got talent, Darci Lynne farmer was surely a chosen one starring in a real feature film after America got talent, Darci Lynne farmer is very important to the art of ventriloquism because on a world famous television show her words “I want to keep the art of ventriloquism alive” help your new queen keep the art alive by supporting her.. we can advance our art no matter what the art may be,by participating in the art,you may not be Megan or Darci but you can be a very good cheerleader.
HOW TO OMG! YOUR AUDIENCE!!
When I was a very young ventriloquist I would write bits and skits for just shocking the audience,my Sammy is a rebel child so he enjoyed acting a fool in front of an audience, mainly me being the punching bag for sammy punchlines,of course sammy acting like a out of control smart mouth brat was a 😳 omg! sell out skit,this was a very known comedy skit of mine where I step back and let sammy go off like a wild dog,there I stand in the shadow of sammy watching the audience enjoy the rebel child throw his cheap shots at the punching bag, this skit is a freestyle ventriloquist act so even I don’t know what sammy is going to do or say,but I am always ready to jump back in to bring it back into control, always have a plan B, this skit is a improv act,it is off the cuffs and it is a freestyle act and it was a very successful audience pleaser,I think people love to see the rebel child take down the “man” or “authority figure” maybe that’s why the sammy acting a fool act was a successful skit because here you have the little guy taking on a bigger guy and the bigger guy would be me,so I think it’s more like the little guy being a bully to the big guy… Another skit was a walk around skit,I would go out in the audience with a hand puppet to have the puppet greet people in the audience, the puppet would try to shake hands with people,the puppet would try to kiss people and hug people, some people even ran away from the puppet..why? Because the puppet was a skunk 🦨 puppet that stinks, I mean this puppet STANK! the skunk puppet favorite line, “what did you expect from a skunk puppet made from a ventriloquist dirty old sock.” if you choose to use this bit routine,make sure you only use food products to create the smell,also wear one of those gloves 🧤 the doctors wear under the skunk puppet,make sure no audience members kiss the skunk or hug or touch, even though the skunk is asking for a kiss or hug or hand shake,make sure after the show you watch the skunk puppet, when traveling with this skunk skit keep skunk puppet in a trash bag,how I created the skunk smell, before I arrived at the show I put the skunk puppet in a bag with tuna juice,onions, garlic salt,and a little bit of urine,yes urine, this is the day of the show,so be sure the puppet is dry, remember you only need the scent so let that skunk puppet go swimming in that trash bag with all the stinky ingredients you put inside the bag,then let the puppet dry then put the skunk puppet in a dry clean trash bag for travel to your ventriloquist performances.. what I think about the skunk bit routine is that being a ventriloquist you only use the audiences eyes and ears with this skunk puppet bit you use the 👃 nose too!

THE FALL APART VENTRILOQUIST FIGURE
How to OMG audience, here is away to really get laughs.. during your ventriloquist act the dummy starts to fall apart, the legs fall off, the arms fall off,the eyes pop out, the mouth stop working,and for more comedy and laughter the ventriloquist uses duck tape to try to put the parts on,ending the ventriloquist act with a dummy mummy. I used this act a few times, it’s a very successful skit, because I built the fall apart body myself, the mouth wasn’t broken I just pretended like it was broken,so at the end of the act the ventriloquist figure is wrapped up in duck tape, everything except the mouth, the ventriloquist figure and the ventriloquist end the act with a song.

in some studying on ventriloquist Edgar Bergen,we take notes on, Edgar Bergen wanted to be a comedian actor,he sure was a very good artist as we watch him paint with a pencil charlie McCarthy before charlie McCarthy was created, edgar Bergen knew exactly what he wanted to be when he was a child, just like basketball super star Kobe Bryant and let me mention comedian Eddie Murphy. Edgar Bergen never changed his mind, about what he wanted to do in his life,he wanted to be a comedy actor and he found that dream and that goal as a ventriloquist, Edgar Bergen was more of a actor than a ventriloquist,very good pretender at best,let me clear it up more, Edgar Bergen worked in a movie theater working the film projector, records mention Edgar Bergen would practice with Charlie McCarthy at work, watching professional actors on screen for training is a very very good idea,then you go practice what you seen on screen at work, Edgar Bergen wanted to be in show business and ventriloquism was the way in, as a shy person resources may be unreachable,not if you have a wooden partner to bounce off of. the career of ventriloquist Edgar Bergen is mind blowing, in the study you will find when Edgar Bergen performs it’s nothing more than a comedy dialogue written in a play,this is why Edgar Bergen did very well on radio, he was like Denzel Washington a very believable actor.edger Bergen was his own writer also, people could not see Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy on the radio and thought they were listening to two people,a trick of the trade, before television people only seen Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy in the cartoon image,but when Edgar Bergen found out he would be in films,he begin to work on charlie McCarthy image to become more life like or human like,not to disappoint his radio audience that was now becoming viewers,that is just mind blowing to me,why? Because people never seen charlie McCarthy, they only hear him on the radio,so it’s theater of the mind, so to bring the audience imagination into real life is amazing! how do you think of something like that, usually you going from radio to film you probably would focus on yourself but Edgar Bergen focus on the illusion,this is a ventriloquist skill called,”the illusion of life” ventriloquist Willie Tyler and Lester are very good at creating the illusion of life effects. Edgar Bergen was a master actor, people seen his lips moving while performing on stage but still believed in his magic.

The best way to make performing on stage easy for you as a ventriloquist is to put together a verity show, such as if you can dance open or close your show with a tap dance or ballet or hip-hop or whatever your dancing skills may be,now you have a ventriloquist act and a dance routine,if you can perform as a magician add it to your show,now you have a ventriloquist act,dance routine and magic tricks,so you own exotic pets,if you can keep the audience safe add the exotic pets to your ventriloquist show,I think this exotic pet act would probably be a speaking show where you are telling the audience about these pets,if you are a fashion designer add it to your ventriloquist act,I did library shows when I was in highschool for promotional reasons,it was called storytime and I would read a story to after school kids while Sammy my ventriloquist figure provide plenty of punchlines of comedy,theses shows lead me to paid shows, because I would have business card and fliers available during storytime,so maybe memorize a few children stories practice the story with your figure, rewrite the story to add lines for your figure then add a storyteller skit to your show,now you have a dance routine, magic tricks, a exotic pet show! and a very entertaining storytelling skit and then you add different ventriloquist figures now you have characters of a theater play with different personalities. combine talent keep you busy on stage,as you move from add on to add on,if you play a instrument add it to your show,such as the trumpet or saxophone. maybe you are a artist that paint,add it to your ventriloquist act. combine talent when arranged in perfect order could make a smooth performance.

a professional anything can not do a profession for free, it’s not professional,it would be unprofessional to perform for free,this is why professionals have a agent or union rep, and managers to protect the entertainer from being taken advantage of, in some cases it’s okay for a professional ventriloquist to do free shows.let’s say you get paid as a freelance ventriloquist, or semi pro ventriloquist, most semi pro or freelance ventriloquist don’t have an agent or manager, in many cases a semi-pro work on a lower pay than the professional ventriloquist,and on a budget, neither performers want to not make money,in a case where not making money will lead to making money for the professional or semi pro, getting exposure is a good way to get a opportunity,so when business is slow,go out on a exposure event, exposure is not really performing for free, it’s some what a sample of your talent, remember in the exposure event you do not want to go full out, it’s just a demonstration of your skill at a place you are visiting and looking to generate some business, remember your business is slow so this exposure event you want to be seen and heard,even a large photo poster is good for some exposure. you can get some exposure from anywhere, anyplace, anytime, on an airplane flight, show off your ventriloquist skills to the person sitting next to you and word of mouth is also another way to get exposure, remember when on this exposure event have your information ready to give your potential audience members,also remember no matter how slow business is going for you don’t push your booking information on anyone, what you want is your short demonstration to do the talking for you, then the person will be interested and ask for your information, remember to always let people know your status such as I am a semi pro or professional or amateur or just do it for family and friends or just for fun,why, because this give people a price range idea with out asking, in a conversation mention where you do shows such as weddings and birthday parties and this will give your potential audience members a booking engagement, remember to be polite no matter what,if they’re not interested good if they are interested good, you are on a exposure event and it’s to be seen and heard,even if your demonstration is ten seconds, mission accomplished,a quick telephone trick is quick and easy for a ventriloquist, everyone has a telephone, making someone dog talk, theses days everyone has a dog,it would be shocking to the dog owners when they’re dogs start taking. when you sit down to come up with a ventriloquist act, writing is very important, always write your ideas down,so later down the line you can take a look back at where you left off or for remember those ideas, it’s nothing like idea entering your mind and not having a ink pen to write it down,or a recording device, you should write down a quick joke you hear when out and about,then edit or rewrite to fit you.

In this workshop you will get as much information as possible that you will not find anywhere else, simple because this workshop is created just for that purpose.let me revisit my beginner years as a ventriloquist,when I had to learn the art of ventriloquism on my own sure as I grow in the art I take classes on the craft of the performing arts but those classes cost money and I was poor, finding out how expensive the art of ventriloquism or to be a ventriloquist is but after as I learned how to make the art enjoyable the art became affordable. In this workshop it’s based on information for you the ventriloquist, simply because I met many professional ventriloquist but they didn’t share or give me any information on the art of ventriloquism.I hope this workshop will give you some tips on show business,I hope this workshop give some ideas.when I found the art of ventriloquism,I eat,sleep and breathe the art, I was so happy that I could do something, my big brother was a cartoonist he could draw and paint, my little brother could dance and wow the audience but as a child I could write but I could not wow a audience with my writing but then came a ventriloquist doll name sammy.
