What’s the difference between fliers and business cards?

Advertising and marketing is very important for a ventriloquist. some ventriloquists may have been in show business for many years and may have not known how self promotion works. here we take notes on understanding the business of the eyes for the a pro or beginner ventriloquist. A flier or fliers means now or at this time,if you give out fliers that means it is happening now,if you give out a business card it means let’s talk, let’s do business let’s make a flier or maybe I will do business with you in the near or far future. A business card is information for getting in contact with a individual or anything like that,a flier is a event happening now or a showing of a ventriloquist show with date, time,and location.fliers are hand to hand, fliers are passed out to the public, a business card is passed out to a private person,not everyone get your business card, unless they visit your private business or you give it to them privately so basically fliers are for the public and business cards are for personal or private.if someone has your business card it means some way some how it was a private dealing. Let’s talk about brochures, are brochures still needed today,I say yes,a brochure is a small magazine or booklet of your ventriloquist act or show,it is a business card and a flier combine together, brochures can be used for private like a business card or public like a flier but keep in mind that a brochure is usually to impress, it’s something like a tuxedo,so keep that in mind.let’s talk about websites, it’s ok to have a website for your ventriloquist business,now let’s be clear we live in a time of social media,but this study is on business and marketing and I truly believe the business card and fliers and the brochures are better to do business and marketing, simply because people want to do business with you not a computer,the best business people get their hands dirty, when the phone ring they answer on the first ring, I think a website is the computer version of brochure but if you have a show that’s a web show then do your show online but I am speaking on the subject of business, meaning put your website show on a flier for the public,give your business card to special guests for your website show and have a brochure for business office meetings.me personally doing business is a up close and personal encounter,so meeting at a coffee shop and having a cup coffee to discuss business is good if the deal is a big deal,I think going out to dinner with clients for business deals as a team merger is a good thing such as meeting the writer,the actors,the production crew and such,I think a zoom meeting is a good way to conduct business,but not deals,deals should be done face to face or have your representative stand in for you..when I was a young boy my manager would sign show deals for me,these show deals are written contracts that can be used in small claims court or civil court,they were called show agreements between the management company and the client. when you become a professional ventriloquist you do more business than show,so if you make a living being a ventriloquist,be happy and go do business. I tell you having a manager as a young ventriloquist made me very happy, because before I joined the band of musicians with their manager, I was my own manager so when I was hired to be a opening act for the band of musicians manager company, I could just have fun being a ventriloquist. not saying anything bad about the ventriloquist business or show business,I am saying show business is a business more than a show…..so some audiences have no clue that doing a show is actually work, when they see the ballet dancers on stage some audiences have no idea of training and study learning to be a ballet dancer or the ventriloquist on stage speaking with out moving his/her lips while playing two characters and animating one and remember your lines,so me having a manager to do the business part was a big help for me,so if you like to join a talent management company, I say that is fine,but I say for a ventriloquist you don’t need to join a talent agency unless you are a world famous ventriloquist or something like that but me personally I say even if you’re a world famous ventriloquist the talent management company is a better business deal.
